#1 Don’t you only want guys who want to be there out on the field representing LSU? That’s not a knock on anyone btw.

#2 Don’t you want to get reps for younger guys who will play a bigger role on next year’s team?

I think that's the biggest positive

We're going to need to get some of these younger guys ready to be the main guys next year. Some live reps against quality competition before spring ball can only help.

The selfish side of me wants to see them play but the logical side of me agrees with their decision

With the new Red Shirt rule, this can actually be beneficial for the future, get some freshman in there and get them some experience against a very quality opponent

At this point we should expand the playoff to 8-16 teams. This trend is only getting more and more prominent. If people treat bowl games outside the playoffs as not important at all then make more games important.

Kind of becomes pretty meaningless when some of your best players are sitting out.

That's their right to walk away from a program But they should NOT be given a player's privileges.

They should buy their own plane ticket, hotel room, game ticket, food, etc. No sideline pass - none of that crap.

What would fans rather have, a guy getting his knee blown out in an lsu uniform, in a meaningless bowl game and that forever being associated with lsu.

Or a guy like LF7 who at one point (still may) was wearing his LSU pads under his NFL jersey for the world to see.

I'd take a message that LSU can get you to the NFL, like LF, to young kids all day every day.

LF was definitely understandable as he had a lingering injury all year

I'm not a big fan of perfectly healthy guys doing it but it's their choice and I can't fault them

Fine. I better not see his arse come back and wave to the crowd next year.

Why is a bowl game more meaningless than the cupcake out of conference games? Maybe they should skip those too to lessen the probability of injury.

So as a fan you wouldn't want a top 5 draft pick telling recruits to come to lsu because you're butthurt.

Good to know some of you are this dumb.

I completely agree . If players are now sitting out of NY6 bowls then the number will continue to increase. Expanding the playoffs will make the bowls meaningful and players won’t sit out. They make a lot of money on the bowls but the revenue will suffer if something isn’t done. Who is going to travel and spend money to see a game full of backups?

This is quite literally a multi-million dollar decision. Something that 99.99% of you have never made

And even as a fan there are big picture reasons why it’s not that big a deal!

This is simply the new direction in NCAA football. It is what it is.
This will effect every team.

Keep in mind that some of these guys would leave even earlier if the rules permitted.

Delpit could be a 1st rounder right now if allowed to be drafted.

This isn't the NFL. They aren't getting paid millions for our fandom and shouldn't be treated as such

Well he's already leaving a year early. Now a year and a game early. Bosa from tOSU and Oliver at Houston have both claimed injury and quit 2/3rds into the season.

It just seems the trend is getting worse.

It’s just a reflection of it’s about me climate prevelant in today’s college football environment. I don’t like but I am also not going to concern myself with it. It’s a personal decision just like picking a school to attend
