Maybe he just wants to balance it out, knowing that most other ESPN commentators don't like LSU. I just hope the Tigers get productive play at the QB position, regardless of who winds up getting most of the snaps. Remember, there is always a strong possibility of injury at that position, so having two solid QB's is almost a necessity these days.

That is not all his fault. If someone like Jimbo Fisher, that has the ability to develope QBs, had tutored JJ for all 4 seasons,

This here is what his problem is it's always someone elses fault. He is his own problem he can't read defenses and make bad choices, that's not the fault of the coaches!

I hope that he has grown up and used all this negative to work harder and study film. I wish him all the best!

This relates to two things that, at this point, cannot be fixed.

(1) Self confidence, and
(2) Mechanics

Throwing mechanics breeds consistency.

"Self confidence" and "Mechanics" should be listed behind "Processing information quickly and then making the right decision" (Reading defenses)

Hard to make a read when you have to figure out which of the 25 formations to line up in. JL didn't exactly excel in crowtons system. Or RS.

That is one of the best assessments that I have read on JJ. Fair, honest and based on facts.

I still don't know why we all of a sudden love Jimbo. Does anyone remember Auburn '06? What QB did he really develop into greatness here at LSU? JaMarcus? Certainly, he was better than Crowton at QB development, but I don't think he's the staple for it.

I would love to get someone to bet me straight up that Jordan Jefferson will win the Heisman. I will take against all day and I am sure I could round up enough cash to put down a sizable wager. You still think he has a 50% chance 7th Ward? Would love to bet you on that.

I predict by the 2nd game, this board will be melting down calling for Mett...hell, maybe by the second quarter of the Oregon game.

I would agree with you if Crowton was still the OC.Kragthorpe has been working with JJ on basic fundamentals and I expect we will see great improvement when fall practice starts.I was impressed with JJ's recent session with Mark May on TV.I think Crowton was probably a good OC from a technical perpective but was unable to impart his knowledge to the QB's.Kragthorpe is only going to allow JJ to do what JJ is capable of doing and not let him try to do things he isn't capable of doing.I think JJ has faith in Kragthorpe and certainly feels Kragthorpe has taught him things that he didn't learn from Crowton. The Oregon game will determine JJ's fate.I really expect JJ to have an outstanding season.

Anyone else think Jefferson will also have more freedom on deciding when to just tuck it and go since he's a senior and the back up situation is favorable. Just a thought.

I think he could take a shite at midfield and not lose his job. JJ will have free reign this year.

based on what?...Was it one of those ..."i just think"...or "I just feel" type of things?..."it is just his time?"...I sure hope he provided something of substance to base it on...

There is essentially ZERO evidence that JJ can look off his prime read when there is ANY SEMBLANCE of pressure. He has NO field vision and gets totally lost when he tries to scan the field. Every game we hope he finally turns the corner in this most important area, and game after game after game after game after season after spring game after whatever, he still cannot. If Krags can fix this, in ADDITION to his slow throwing mechanics and slow decision making, THEN AND ONLY THEN, will we see JJ perform consistently well against real defenses. Confidence and "one year older" ain't gonna produce improvement.

Yea that is what is so perplexing. I mean if PP came back for his senior year I could understand that as he has actually been productive. Heck a retuning all american. JJ on the other hand couldnt crack the top 10 qb's of the SEC last year. Just amazing to think he would be given such leeway.

Espn is pimpin LSU big time. I would think mainly because of the season opener against Oregon.

Jesse Palmer - notes LSU's QB situation is better than Bama's, picks LSU to win the SEC

Colin Cowherd - picks LSU to be in BCSCG

Andre Ware - predicts Jordan Jefferson will have a huge year

One thing fans cant bitch about this year is that ESPN hates LSU and that we dont get enough attention etc...

Doesn't every defensive player have the same chance as every offensive player, all at 50%?

JJ will be the same as JJ from last year -- he has reached the limit of his talent - and there is nothing wrong with that. Coaching can only take you so far...Mett by game 3 -- book it

First of all. Andre Ware's opinion on football >>> yours

That's all everyone heard last preseason! All of the "experts" said that JJ was going to have a big year last year. Including CM, and look how that turned out!
