Texas, Florida and Texas A&M are all programs on the rise. If we beat all three then O should get some brownie points. Additionally, if our offense can show some life against Alabama, I'll consider it a good season. That's as reasonable as I know how to be.

@ Texas

this one will come down to coaching and i wont be surprised if texas wins because they go for 4th and 2 and convert and lsu punts/kick a fg. tom herman can coach circles around ed o unfortunately.

ga southern and utah st will get blown out but those are two really good mid major programs to have on a nonconference that also includes texas. i dont see how anyone could possibly have a harder schedule than lsu next year.

because of that i think one or two losses should probably be expected. it wont be the end of the world, but playing that many talented teams, they will lose eventually.

This year? Yes.

Look at the schedule, where the games are played and who we play.
Look at who we return, and who we bring in.

Go ahead and pencil in the loss to Alabama. Now, find me the 2nd loss, and tell me that won't be a big disappointment.
We COULD lose at Texas, but that would be a punch in the gut. We've been better, we should be better next season, and we shouldn't plan on losing to a team still rebuilding, when we have a top 10 team ourselves. That should be a must-win for us to remain relevant nationally.

All other potential ranked teams, with the exception of Miss St, are home games. Miss St should be declining, and we shouldn't accept a loss to them regardless.

Objectively speaking, this should be the best preseason outlook for LSU since going into the 2007 season.

Well, would the fact that we have lost at least three regular season games for the last several years count as empirical evidence? Seems like it to me. Maybe next season will be the year we break that trend. I sure hope so

Tom Herman doesn't lose the games when his teams are underdogs. For some reason, he has some surprising loses. He will double kiss his players good night for the LSU game, and those kisses will inspire his team to victory, unfortunately. LSU will go 10-2 with a NY Day Bowl Game against Michigan.

Im sorry but if we lose to any team in the regular season next year besides texas or bama it will be underachieving.

I believe 2020 is gonna be a rough year given how many upperclassmen we could lose. Its 2019

Why are you ignoring me?

Is anything less than 11 regular season wins an underachieving season?

Poor Ole Miss. You didn't even think enough of them to include them on the schedule.

Of course. Going 10-2 with another nice bowl win for 11-2, and O should be shown the door right?

You tell me

I’m predicting 2 regular season losses and I’m okay with that.

Injuries will be a key in 2019. If we stay healthy, get by TX, 10-2 is doable. Fwiw - Saban has 7, yes 7 new Asst. Coaches. Not analyst; Asst. Coaches. That could be a factor that could erase 1 of the 2. The bounces our way in 1 & we could add another W.

Did I really just type that ? Been a long time since that thought has even been on the table. Need to check down & remember this is the SEC & try, try to keep things in perspective. But it sure is fun ..... :-)
