You definitely missed the point

It’s not a terrible point but you laid it out poorly.

If you want to compare inherited talent, you can’t pick the 3 best players from one team and not the 3 best players from another.

I thinkni Got the point. I don’t even think I disagree with the point.

I’m saying you made the argument for the point poorly. And the fact that you keep saying “you missed the point” supports that.

Huh? Do you think I left or Jacob Berry for fun? My point was perfectly clear

Steven Waguesback was the top returning hitter for Paul Mainieri’s first year.

Jay Johnson had Dylan crews, among others

Schimpf & Jared Mitchell were not even good as freshmen. You wouldn’t even have a point if your point made sense

Interesting reading but can't make this type of comparison. Different day Different time. BUT...interesting as it is all you have for now. Compare year three and beyond!

One inherited

JJ took over a slumping program but the roster wasn’t near as poor as PM’s first team. 2021 Tigers won a regional, it had elite talent in the field. PM inherited none of that.

But both coaches were forced to take in transfers and here JJ had a big advantage due to the rule changes.

Any fair assessment would tell you that Mainieri inherited less than what Johnson inherited except PM had an advantage being that he was closer to past teams that won in Omaha and the SEC hadn’t busted loose yet. Competition is more fierce now and we lost a lot of our cache’.

I haven't looked into it, but is JJ just not aggressive on the bases or is this season just an anomaly?
