Jeff Landry needs to stay in his lane.
If he is that interested in tinkering with college football he can go over to his alma mater and make the team is on the field for The National Anthem and then put a little Cajun in a cage and roll him around the field.

Landry is dumb. They aren't bringing Mike into the stadium.

How difficult would it be to build a cage out of the same aquarium type glass they have against the water in his habitat?

F that, get a harness and run him around like they do that buffalo in Colorado!

Please tell me you know the difference between a tiger and a couple of overgrown cows and some birds...

we don't know if they do/don't suffer mental anguish.
but other than Eagles, every other one you mentioned are domesticated animals that live in people's yards and properties. Being around people is considered normal for those entire species.

Why did Mikes I-V not have stress or mental anguish?

They probably did.
But people didn't care and at one point would even bang on his cage to make him roar.

It may be for the accreditation but being that the Dean of the vet school opened up the possibility of Mike VIII doing it I feel like that's simply a rumor that someone put on here and people ran with it because it made sense to them.

this article (or others like it) gets posted everytime someone starts this topic.

Mike VII not being allowed at football games could be a crucial difference in whether LSU is able to become an accredited tiger sanctuary. The Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries has the most rigorous accreditation standards, with one expert calling it "the only legitimate accrediting body," and another calling "the gold star" of accrediting agencies.

That group will not accredit a so-called sanctuary unless its animals are not moved from their enclosures for non-medical reasons. Parading Mike at home games would prevent LSU from receiving its accreditation.

I don't understand why we're even having this conversation. It is 100% guaranteed that it WILL. NOT. EVER. HAPPEN.

I've been going to games since the 80's and it was pretty cool to have a live tiger in the stadium, and sitting there for the opposing team to run out past. Of COURSE it was.

Do I want us to go back to doing it?

No, I do not. Because I know if we do, we won't have ANY live tiger on campus at all.

I'm down for something else. What if we had a live camera and microphone over in his habitat during the pregame and they got video of him roaring up on those fancy new screens and speakers? If he got a new elephant "toy" to destroy all week leading up to the game?

I assume you don’t object to the engineering, but are downvoting because you have butt hurt over Mike in Tiger stadium. And y’all hate to see any objections logically destroyed in front of your faces.

Please just leave this to the veterinarians. I love all these guys who work at Jiffy Lube giving their input about what is or is not harmful to a domesticated tiger.

Stay in y'all's lane. You don't know more than LSU's vet school.

A fairly dimly lit stadium with 30K people 60 years ago is alot different than a massive 105K person stadium with light shows and fireworks.

So I guess you can’t have a religion because you’re not a theologian, or vote because you are not a doctor of political science?

You sir or madam, are making a classical Argument from Authority argument. If YOU had studied logic in school then you would know that an argument from authority is a logical fallacy!

But you didn’t, so you don’t, but now you do Jiffy Lube. LOL

It's being used in the inductive method, which is generally only considered a fallacy if supported by a false authority. If you studied logic in school, you would know that.

Are you insinuating that LSU's veterinarians are unqualified?

With tens of thousands of tigers not in accredited facilities, getting another Tiger seams to be a nonissue.
