Joe Alleva has the responsibility beyond winning on the field. Granted I will not defend the football coaching search. That being said fundraising and facility improvement have been fruitful.

NOT concessions for football.

THAT is miserable and falls completely on his shoulders.

If he pays attention to the concessions at the SEC baseball tournament, if he even attends, he would see how things should be for his own paying base of customers.

What about extending the women's basketball coach, with a buyout, when nobody else wants her? And she's done a pretty shitty job of coaching? The football hiring process needs to explanation.

And the upgrades are coming off of past success. Now they are seeing the future, instead of living off the past, and it probably doesn't look as bright.

I doubt they get rid of him right now. That would be being proactive, and we don't seem to have the ability to be that.

Do you actually think Alleva has anything to do with fund raising?

Give him credit on keeping us out of NCAA trouble, supporting improving facilities, trying new options (some worked / some didn't) on concessions, selling advertising etc. He is astute internally at running the department. Completely clueless on external issues -- he has no idea of the fans' perception of him and ask the TAF executives the last time they took Alleva on a fund raising trip? Truth is the TAF stays clear of him on the fundraising trail. Alleva is a huge negative. He is aloof and goofy when dealing with donors directly.

Is he as bad as everyone says? No. He does do some things very well. But, hiring coaches ain't his strength and he anger issues / ego rear their ugly heads in high profile issues. Joe wants to be the same. "I am the Search"!! Narcissistic much?

They offered him a huge savings which means he could squeeze more money out of athletics and turn it over to his overlord FKA.

If he were interested in service, choice or quality he could've asked any of their hundreds of customers or seen the reviews of fans whose team's do have them as a vendor and realized that the improved cost savings would not outweigh the lack of benefit for the fans.

If he were interested in extracting as much money out of the fanbase in order to siphon it off to support the other side of the University and it's liberal hack of a Chancellor/President he'd be all-in with Aramark and know it was helping him rake some extra millions off the table and into LSU AD and LSU Academic side's coffers.

We see where his allegiance and loyalties lie.

Agreed. After the thread wackings last night and some other rumblings, I was hoping today may finally be the day. But now it appears that is not the case.

This is the last time I get my hopes up.

If he's gone sooner than later, may have a lot to do with dwindling TAF donations and season ticket non-renewals. Money talks. At some point anyways.

It’s the smell of the LSU WBB program going down in flames after his decision to extend Nikki Fargas’ contract for another 3 years.

If it’s any consolation, her extension includes a 0% raise, and a decrease of her buyout to a max of $600k if she is fired after the 18-19 season, with an offset for other income.

Its basically a way to kick the can down the road so that hiring a new WBB coach isnt an immediate action item for a brand new AD. She can probably be fired next March for under $200,000 total.
