Does anyone know if there is a buyout required to settle if Dixon Leaves?

Kind of crazy to think Trent is making the amount of money he is.

+1
I think trent knows how lucky he is that he found a sucker to offer him that money before his coaching rep went completely to the tank. He didn't really care about winning here imo. He was just worried about "gettin his"

Referencing the PMAC of course

Dixon would very well be worth at least the $3 mil range and maybe more in the future. Consistent winner and would be the best coach in the SEC outside of Calipari. Def in my top 3 choices for new BB coach.

Donovan is pretty good coach too

Anybody heard any facts about tonight? Was there really a meeting?

From a Pittsburg forum...
"It's laughable. So he happened to be in his office when some AD called him and he took the call to say, "Thanks but no thanks." Jamie is staying at Pitt. But it is funny to think what those hayseeds down in the Bayou are thinking that they might get a coach of that caliber. Yeah, right!!!"

Texas, Ohio State, and LSU athletic departments are similar in many ways. Huge football programs bring in high revenue and basketball is either #2 (Ohio State) or #2b (Texas and LSU along with baseball). Mid 2MM range is reasonable for the right guy.

Yes there was a meeting. But that's about the only thing we know. We should be finding out the whole story tomorrow or very soon.

It amazes me how confident they are that they didn't meet. If they truly thought Dixon wasn't going anywhere why would they care so much about the meeting?

And more from a Pittsburg form. Shows how they view LSU....
"For cryin' out loud, are you guys that dumb??!!!! Dixon is NOT going to LSU.....ever!!! It's obvious from your posts that you don't know Jamie Dixon even one small bit. He's already in the situation he wants to be in for a long, long time and he and his family are Pittsburghers now. If he ever left Pitt, it wouldn't be for a third rate program like LSU. He has the best facilities here, he's getting paid better than most college coaches, and he's turned down offers from schools that were a lot better than LSU. If you believe these reports and rumors, you must believe in the Easter bunny."

...and the story I'm hearing is that he's meeting Jamie Dixon there.
I'm also hearing they're going to go for a deal with Dixon tonight. As of right now, he IS the list. If they can't land him, somebody like Pastner could well be the next guy.
All this Johnny Jones/Tommy Amaker/Reggie Theus stuff is nothing but a smokescreen. Jones has people pushing him, but Alleva has supposedly heard the fans loud and clear and he knows that's a bad move.
