Except that O was the obvious and best choice under the circumstances.

And water is wet, but it is what it is. All we can do is hope for the best, and maybe some good fortune.

What exactly do you call Ed Orgeron vs Nick saban?

Please explain how a 55 year old dline coach that has never ran a successful offense, defense , or program is the best choice to go up against the most talent rich division in cfb. Thats fricking laughable.

Ed orgeron wouldnt be in Vandy's top 5 but some on how he is this great hire at lsu.

Yes, with the circumstances being that a lazy, incompetent, emotional athletic director was conducting the search.

Yeah the circumstances of our clown AD refusing to do his job and have a coaching search once the 2 obvious choices said no.

The people that think Ed Orgeron was the best hire we could make are one of the reasons we will never be a true blue blood.

How about we wait to complain until the hire is made at least? Although someone will bitch no matter who it is.

Hey dumbass, Alleva has made two basketball hires. We can fricking complain. We already know he's failed twice. Wait til he makes the hire? Where the frick have you been since 2008?

Trent was an impressive hire from Stanford on paper. I don't remember anyone having a problem with it then or when he won the league his first season. It's not Alleva's fault Trent essentially quit working on the job afterwards.

I wasn't thrilled with the JJ hire being forced on Alleva, but a little over a year ago, the PMAC was full for the UK and OU games and we were near the top of the SEC standings. People actually cared. That season ended disastrously and this season was worse, so JJ was fired. What else can he do?

Whoever gets hired next is not going to be a sure thing either. But until the hire is made, complaining that it will be a terrible one just amounts to a bunch of miserable people yelling at clouds.

Because its a glorified participation trophy for tRant?

Who gives a frick about gymnastics lol. You ranters will take a win no matter how little it is. Kinda sad honestly.

If Gynastics suck, they wouldn't even be mentioned here... just like the other toilet tier sports that colleges have teams for.

This is a terrible argument. Oh wasn't at Vandy. Who would have been a better 3rd choice? Oh, and by the way, you're a moron.

Literally any coach or coordinator that has actually run a successful offense, defense,or program.

Ed orgeron wasnt even the most qualified coach on our staff.
I'm sorry you're ignorant to cfb and think a 55 year old career position coach is the best hire lsu couldve made. fricking ignorant.

Only someone that knows nothing about cfb would think Ed Orgeron was the best candidate for lsu's head coach.

Please explain how a coach never being successful at running an offense, never being successful at running a defense, and never being successful at running a program is the best hire lsu couldve made.

Its actually the right argument.
A coach that isnt qualified to be interviewed at VANDY is in no way the best hire lsu couldve made.

Are you just now coming to this conclusion? Most of us have been here awhile.

The man fricked up at Duke and has been fricking up at LSU too long. It seems that everyone knows what is going on but for the administration.

It's not Alleva's fault

It most certainly is since Alleva made the hire. He has hired two men's coaches already and each has failed. Anyone not scared shitless about him getting to hire his third is nuts.

Christ...who is the fricking AD? Alleva or Brown. The excuses some come up with to cover for the Alleva frick ups is laughable.

The man shits in his bed when making coaching hires. That doesn't make me miserable. It makes me willing to face a major problem happening at LSU.

Exactly. Is there Alleva's job to make sure alumni dont force hires.

I've been plenty critical of Alleva and called him a pushover and PR nightmare. I was not happy about the Coach O hire. But some hires work out, some don't. There are levels of risk with most of them.

Nikki was considered a rising star in her profession when she was hired and there were actually posters worried about her bolting for Tennessee when Summitt retired. She just hasn't lived up to expectations or her salary.

I would consider Beth Torina a successful hire on Alleva's part. Particularly after he lured Murphy away from Bama and he changed his mind 2 days later. He also hired the Sells for the women's tennis program, who have USTA coaching experience and reeled in a #1 recruiting class last year.

I'll say it again, I'm not a big fan of Alleva, but he's objectively been a good administrator overall. And he largely has the support of F King and the BOS.
