if you think the Thursday game has anything to do with CBS, you have no intelligence to insult.

This guy doesn't want any pull. He has zero interest in what the fans think or care about and has zero interest in the long term well being of the LSU Athletic Dept.

Then what, exactly, is he interested in? Just riding the gravy train as long as he possibly can?

Excellent quote. I firmly believe that this guy does not have the chest or the testosterone level to be effective at this job.

I'll never get over him throwing those Duke lacrosse players under the bus. and that's exactly what he did, to the point of a DA getting freaking disbarred. Bastard should have gone to jail, and Aleva should have been charged as an accomplice.

I really don't get what you people want him to do? Twist arms? Threaten to leave the conference? How would handle moving a game to Thanksgiving.

Ok man.

Pretty sure political grand standing and being a complete fricktard is what got Nifong disbarred.

Well for openers at least negotiate for something in return. Hell he couldn't even get a guarantee out of it that we wouldn't get stuck playing a&m on Friday when they come here. I understand there is give and take, but I'm tired if LSU always giving.

Be very public and very vocal about LSU's displeasure with the status quo. That would be an excellent start. All the other AD's should groan when they see him walk in the room. The good ole boy schmoozing makes for fun times on the golf course at the league meetings, but it ain't working in LSU's interests.

So you mean to say that the AD of a founding member of the conference can't get his way over a school that's been in the conference a year?

If that's the case he does need to hit the road back to Duke.

Be creative, do whatever it takes. It's supposed to be his job to look out for LSU not be agreeable.

Not what I expected to hear from him. Have a feeling in a few years when we add 2 more it is only going to get worse.

I'd love to see a better arrangement too, but what leverage does he have to negotiate when it's thirteen against one, how do you win that?

No other school besides A&M had a dig in this hunt, and since we're a founding member should have a little more clout.

This

LSU has always been somewhat of a outlier in the conference. Night games being the main one. Not one other team wants to play vs LSU at night in tiger stadium so he really has no backup.

In many ways LSU is on a island by itself and I only see it getting worse. If they go to 9 games more LSU traditions will be discarded

ETA: just because you've been in the sec longer doesn't get you anything. One vote counts as one vote and again, no one is going to go to bat with LSU for night games- isnt ever going to happen

I heard the interview, and I have changed my opinion on Alleva, HE SHOULD BE FIRED. He said that LSU agreed to play Thanksgiving Night only if we could be guaranteed a Friday or Saturday game in Baton Rouge? The frick is he doing? He said that LSU fans enjoy Friday and Saturday games. Where is this imbeciles head? About 90% of LSU fans HATE the Friday, 1:30 game. If the LSU administration likes the game, then it's his job to sell it to the LSU fans, because to this day I have never heard of a good reason for it. Alleva then went on to say that CBS dictates if we play Friday, Saturday, 1:30, or at night. Is this Jackhole going to tell me that CBS dictated to A&M to play the attractive LSU/A&M game on Thanksgiving Night so that ESPN can cover the game? Does CBS not want to broadcast this game?

Exactly what did LSU get in return for turning around and bending over for A&M?

Alleva is a clown!

Exactly. What is he supposed to do? Start beating the shite out of AD's?

fricking Mizzouri has as much pull as us. 1 fricking vote.

People need to realize that LSU has virtually no pull when it comes to the SEC office. Been that way for a long time.

Why should we? Isn't it a pre-requisite that you must be a graduate of the University of Alabama to get a job at the SEC Office!
