This wasn’t necessary. We have enough understanding that those dudes have no concept of reality. 14-40 SEC versus taking McNeese to back to back NCAAT and advancing. Never in their history has that happened.
I feel bad for the McWives and McDogs.

Has there really been many posters comparing the two coaches? Seems like you’re arguing with yourself.

What about Baseball?
What about BK digging LSU out of a grave in football?

You don’t have to crap on other programs. If you prefer basketball then fine, but it’s not necessary to degrade other sports. You look petty

Yeah no playoffs in 6 years and wasting the 2nd best QB in program history and 3rd and 5th best WRs in program history surely have dug us out of the grave made by the coach who won a national championship

It's not that uncommon and this year in particular they were an extremely popular upset pick.

But, of course, TPK chimes in to dismiss the win.

It’s sad this is what you think about

I do. I enjoy all LSU success. Why don't you?
And who is downplaying a 12 seed beating a 5 seed? I did see some guys downplaying Clemson being a 5 seed before the game, saying they did not deserve it. Oddly enough, those guys were not McMahon supporters at all.

I don’t enjoy spending millions on WBB at the expense of men’s basketball and football.

You think more money is spent on WBB than football?

Why were they such a popular upset pick?

He doesn’t look petty. He is petty.
Anyone who slights other sports at LSU because one is struggling is just a fricking a-hole. I don’t watch LSU Tennis, Golf, or Swimming and Diving and only catch Track occasionally in National Championships, but I sure as hell want them to all succeed.

There’s a difference between saying Clemson sucks or is overrated (they don’t and they aren’t- basically the same team went to the G8 last season) and that they were very beatable against McNeese’s style of play. Memphis has beaten them home and away the last two seasons playing a very similar high pressure style that tends to speed teams up and force turnovers and bad shots. A few national hoops writers predicted the upset and others called this one out as a game to keep an eye on. There was a reason for that.
And none of that takes away from what McNeese or Wade did. College Basketball in March is ALL about matchups, but you still have to execute to take advantage.

My purpose for the response was simply to point out people were saying strange stuff before the game.
We agree on this. It is always a combination of style matchup plus talent differential. This is one place where Wade at McNeese did an exemplary job, he got talent above expectations for a traditional lower-end Southland team. That is not intended as any backhanded compliment, I think Wade has always attracted talent that probably surpassed any reasonable expectation, which is key to reading the bar for any school. It is one of the reasons he has always been a great program elevator.
Wade is a great recruiter and at least a very good coach. What he has done at McNeese is worthy of praise at the very least, as is beating Clemson. The only part of me that does not hope he makes a deep run here is the part tired of the incessant back and forth between the two vocal factions on here.
