You need a dual threat to beat Bama.

Did you watch the SEC championship?

If UGA had a dual threat they win that game easily.

He changed alot from last year.

Actually, he didn’t. He only changed a little. He started making reads a little faster and more importantly, trusting himself to throw the ball a second or so earlier than last year. He started keeping pass plays alive with his legs, rather than only scrambling to run. Biggest of all, he started throwing more deep balls.

Daniels was very close last year and these weren’t massive changes. Little things can make a huge difference at this level of football, especially with a player that has so much natural ability.

Those improvements are all substantial and not minor in any way

These “improvements” are magnified by those who wanted Nuss or others to start, and never recognized the talent that the staff saw in JD from the jump.
If it helps you to cope by insisting he is a completely new player, fine.
But call it what it is.

It's still weird you guys can't acknowledge his improvement even though he's a heisman nominee right now and was nowhere near that year 1 and even worse at ASU. Also how you keep saying we need competition to improve players, but deny Daniels was pushed at all.

I think quarterbacks that can escape the pocket while still looking to pass first are the ideal take.
This has always been the case but with an emphasis on reading defenses and accurate passing. But the QB position has been dumbed down to the point where a QB that can consistently and accurately read defenses and make accurate throws (like Joe Burrow) are becoming a rare find. It’s why the NFL is looking more like college ball every season, QB are intellectually inferior compared to those of the past. And they’re getting dumber all the time.

The line has held up much better this year.

Daniels accuracy took a huge leap this year.

That is what people don't get though. All of it matters. The line, thr receivers, and the qb being with those receivers for another yr.

Similar to Burrow from 18 to 19. Joe Brady brought some passing concepts but he doesn't get the same results if he came a year earlier.
