You want to take out Maravich at point and replace him with Kyle Macy?

It literally took the bottom of the 2nd page for anyone to mention Dominique Wilkins?

Edi: never mind saw it on the first page.

Charles Barkley F. Auburn Bernard King F Tennessee

No. I'd take Bob Pettit over either of these two. Not taking anything away from either of them, but Barkley improved drastically from college to the NBA. He was a rebounder and got points off offensive rebounds, but he wasn't an all-around player in college. His strength's were his rebounding and his strength (pardon the pun). Wasn't a very good ball handler in college and wasn't a very good passer. He was a good post defender but not great. Those reason's kept him off the 1984 Olympic team. Bernard was a great scorer, but that was all he could do. Bob Pettit was a great all-around talent. Shoot, pass, handles, rebound, block shots, he had the complete package. Sam Bowie, when he was healthy was a dominant big man and was more valuable than either of these two. I see what you are trying to say, but you can add Bob Pettit to that team and remove King or Barkley. Maybe you didn't want to come across as being overly biased, but for real, Pettit was better than these two. It'd be hard to argue with an all sec team with these 4 LSU players on it. 3 HOF and one that could have been. There's a lot of great players being over looked here and if you strictly go by merits of their NBA careers then King and Barkley would make sense. But you'd have to remove Chris and put Bob in if you were allowing their NBA careers to sway opinion of who should be on the team.

Are you judging on just what they did in the SEC or their whole career? Too many good players for me to decide. You would have to choose by the decade. Comparing modern players to vintage players is usually not possible because of changes in the game and the lack of historical knowledge by the young people voting. Like the guy who didn't know who Bernard King was. Dan Issel would have to be in the discussion from Kentucky. Dominique Wilkins was the human highlight reel and the best dunker of his time and played for Georgia.

Here’s a non LSU perspective.

Top 15 players las 50 years.

Jackson, O’Neal, Maravich are top 5.

ETA: Wait. Glen Davis made this list. Maybe not so good.

There’s no doubt Maravich and O’neal Should be on everybody’s list. The other positions are debatable.

When the above mentioned not only led the league in scoring but had the two most prolific scoring seasons in the SEC since the mid 80's you can.

Thanks for posting that list. Kenny Walker and Bernard King were two I was thinking about along with Sam Bowie. And one more in Dan Issel of UK.

14 ppg?

14 PPG, national player of year, national champ, tourney MVP.

But yeah, let’s not include him because he was too good to play more than one season

so many down votes yet this list is pretty accurate for players who played in the sec more than 1 season.

I’m not including him because the center on my All Time SEC Basketball team was also national player of the year, a 2-Time SEC player of the Year, a 2-Time All American who averaged 21.6 PPG and 13.5 RPG wile you guy averaged 14.2 and 10.4. My guy also brought 2 franchises to the NBA Finals by 28 while your guy turns 26 next week with one playoff series win and looking to jump on LeBron’s coat tails.
