Lol you guys that start these threads crack me up. I don’t see you starting redemption threads for any predictions you’ve made that didn’t pan out, hell I don’t see anybody who disagreed with you starting threads trying to rub anyone’s face in anything. I know it’s besides the substantial core of the OP but just the mindset to start a thread like this speaks to the infected portion of this fanbase that drags it down.

I ain’t apologizing for shite. Love that coach O is doing well, but at the time people had every right to be pissed at the hire. He was a d-line coach with a very poor head coaching record. Which is fine for a university like Syracuse, but not for a top ten program with unlimited potential like LSU. I love Coach O and will admit I was wrong and I’m glad I was, but people had every right to be mad.

Everyone wanted O to succeed. But a big majority looked at the hire logically and saw that it was lazy and had no reason other than hope to succeed.
The Canada mess (and replacing with E), the recruiting class (Surtain included), the Troy loss. These were HUUUUGE red flags in the first full season.
However, after that, he started to do some good things. Burrow.. Tracy.. recruiting picked up some momentum.. Then Brady.. Fighting to keep Aranda.. Plusing up the shadow staff.. Willingness to change/adapt.
And now 12-0 with a Heisman lock, playoff lock, most prolific offense LSU has ever seen, and a possibility to surpass even Clemson's recruiting class.
The turn around has been absolutely insane.
He has proven to be an excellent hire. And I don't want anyone but him at the moment. However, had Woodward (or any other AD) been in charge of the hire, I seriously doubt that O would've been the choice.. But I'm absoulutey thrilled that it turned out like this!
TLDR.. There was no reason to support the hire besides hope. But hope prevailed. I don't have any problem eating crow for doubting. And it tastes delicious.
