I figured this was a given after the Harris tweet. Sounded like something from a guy who was just told he lost his starting job.

Wow. Not only no scores in 1st quarter this season, but no first downs?

This. And run the ball with 3-4 WR sets. With the line we have and of course LF7, there is no reason why he cant break one, two, or three for long gains by taking those bodies out of the box.

I have, but you cant do much when the box is stacked. This line is built for the run. Give them a 6-7 man front and LF7 will be off. Plus, with Etling at the helm hopefully the D will start respecting the pass and open up the run.

We've run 12 plays for 14 yards and had the ball for 4:21 of the 30 possible minutes in the 1st quarter thus far. The offense has been shite and the defense cannot get off the field either.

I guess we'll have to wait until Saturday to see if Etling can move the ball through the air. Until that happens it'll be the same song and dance.

Maybe, but it isn't just the passing game slowing down the offense in the 1st quarter. We've been bad at the point of attack and the play calling is interesting to say the least. Penalty also hurt on 3rd and 2 Saturday. Can't have a false start at home.

There are so many reasons to start Etling if you think he's the guy going forward.
The comparisons to Harris and Auburn are unfair.
Harris was a true Freshman at an AWAY game against a top 10 Auburn team.
They were rocking, he'd never seen anything like that besides maybe a recruiting visit.

Etling has been with the program for a year. He's a junior. He's been to Bryant Denny in a battle of unbeatens. He at least knows what to expect. All of that aside this is home game against a bad State team. It's the perfect starting point to warm him up for SEC play.

Miles should be hunted down and beaten if they start Harris and continue to do so until he can't get us moving at Florida, and then they put Etling in to completely destroy any confidence going forward.

You've got to start Etling here, and if he does badly at least it's not devastating, we can still win with Harris.

Look, I totally agree with everything you are saying. They have been abysmal. However, I personally think you see a different team this week. DE has not played in the first quarter yet. We will be singing a different tune this time next week. BH does not have the touch to throw screen passes, nor can he read the defense. DE can. Those abilities alone will open up the field tremendously as the defense will have to account for the check down. Also, I don't know if you noticed, but DE can run, and he knows when to do it. This offense will be clicking come Saturday. Im calling we see at least a touchdown in the first quarter.

Oh darn. I liked not scoring points and going 3-and-out on our first 3 drives.

I agree there is no choice considering his job is on the line.
