He's obviously struggling if he only got a few snaps at the Spring Game. Miles knows he has to win this year more than ever.

so yall think Texas's now sophomore QB is going to suck since he got thrown in there too early last year vs. the mighty Crimson Tide?

I would play him over JL, but not JJ.

i only have eyes 4 ....
you..
i was screaming for jefferson when hatch and lee were the starters..
i think if garrett was given a chance he'd turn some heads. texas gg is a great example. you never know what you have until you have until you try it..

GG and CG abilities are 2 diffrent levels.
It be like comparing cg to matt barkly & b4 u get defensive, only an idiot would take cg over gg or mb

Our skill players are young, and LSU needs to have its best qb on the field asap.
Yes, Garret should be considered amongst JL, and JJ for the position.

OL+better D+less dropped passes+experience+better running game=better JJ This should be the standard answer until K.O
Until the first game you will see this quote until your eyes pop out. If the QB threads keep coming this quote will be on here till JJ leads us to victory.

He's under drinking age, isn't he?

Ya because that is going to win us games, another QB that is not ready or underdeveloped. Stick with one guy and work with him.

I am not for going through another young QB. But that said, I haven't seen anything from JJ or JL that would tell me they should be giving the starting job just because they have a experience. If either of them start, IMO, we will be 7-5 or 8-4. HOPE I AM WRONG.
If CG is heads above them in fall practise then I say why not. Even with him starting we go 7-5 or 8-4 so let him get the growing pains.
I really think it should be an open competition through fall and whomever is the best, play them reguardless. If they are all about even. then you go with experience..

Yes, just think how good Marcus Randall would be by now.

Garrett is not ready. As bad as Jeff and Lee looked at the spring game, Garrett looked worse. All four of his passes were off target.
I don't like any of our options at QB, to be honest. That said, to say Garrett looked worse is not fair.
JL's passes were by far the sharpest, except when they were being returned for pick sixes.
JJ looked clueless as usual most of the time.
CG was merely TBD given his limited snaps. That pass across field to RS at the goal line was pretty good. At least he put it where only RS could get it.
I've been so frustrated with JJ that I've been inclined to just say let CG play and take his lumps. At least let him play some series here and there in the first few games.
But, in general, we are poopoo'd at the QB position for 2010.

yes throw him in there and destroy his confidence like JL's- great move!!!!

What is the difference in CG having a 7-5 or 8-4 growing pain season and JL or JJ having 8-5 and 9-4 growing pain seasons? I understand that they did not look that great, but I think that is to be expected when going through "growing pains."
These things need time to play out. Of course it is frustrating to watch a team struggle and finish 112th in total offense, but the fact of the matter is that we have had two starting QBs in the last two years and sometimes it takes more than one season for a QB to mature into a quality player.
