this is why i love this site. Playing Garrett this year would be a huge mistake. Texas had no choice but to play Gilbert last year in the NC game. he play okay for a true freshman. but you have to remember that Texas had a very good team around him. Lsu has a problem of underperforming as a team not just at qb. my question is this. were is all this great talent at wr ?

I say definitely put him. We have had great results with redshirt freshmen starting in the last decade.

Does anyone else remember how great JaMarcus was in his first start vs Florida?

This threat is outrageous. If Miles doesn't take out J Lee after he sets the record for most pick sixes in the history of college football, what makes you think he is going to take out JJ and put in another RF?

Why ruin another qb? This is how we screwed up jj and jl... Let the kids grow and develop before throwing then to the wolves

Idiots. All idiots.

It's the coaches, not the talent. J Lee and JJ aren't lacking the talent; they're lacking the proper grooming.

Just ask any of the players that have been through Miles program at LSU. There's virtually no discipline.

let's see, fellow by the name of Toliver, a 5 star phenom in Randle, a athletic freak of a TE in Peterson, ever here of those guys?

plus, Shepard once he gets used to catchin it, is a threat to go to tha house every time.

all these guys will be in the NFL soon.

Wait, wait...from 05 to 07 it was the talent and not the coaches responsible for the results, but now it the coaches and not the talent responsible for the results.

I see.............

Backup QBs aren't near as attractive when you're getting good production from your starter.

Throw him in there; that sounds reasonable to you people?

Let's see, we have two QBs that got thrown in there way to soon, by necessity, and both of them are struggling so instead of having patience we should just ruin another one?

And if his confidence gets shot like the other two should we take the red shirt off of Zach Lee and ruin him too?

Hey Ruben Randall played QB for a year in high school, maybe he’s the answer, and so on and so on and so on….

I am sadly convinced that we have surpassed the gumps as the most STUPID fan base in the nation.

Congratulations!

This....x's 10,000

And the pass to Shep in the end zone..he threw it off his back foot. Go look at the tape. This kid isn't near being ready. His upside is huge but he needs to NOT go through what has apparently ruined our 1 and 2 QB's (rank 'em where you want) and that is being thrust into the action before he's ready. Let him sit this year and maybe even next. I don't care. But if he goes in now, it's quite possible that he'll look like Jarrett Lee personified.

And as far as us surpassing the Gumps as the stupidest fan base......I don't know if we've surpassed them but we're definitely running neck and neck. At least some on here are.
