If they can't get the grass any greener than what it has been, then I would be all for it.

But, you will have the traditionalist: FB is meant to be played on grass,

Have you ever played on turf? Outside of the new fuzzy stuff ( for lack of a better description ), it absolutely sucks, especially in an outdoor stadium. When we'd run in Tiger Stadium on a rainy / wet day, if you ever made the mistakes of stepping on the sideline turf, you went flying as any moisture meant a nice hydroplane. On dry days, you could peel a layer of skin off in one tumble. Screw turf.

This is what I thought we would be using. Not the cheap Astroturf that was in the Superdome for all those years. I haven't played on the new turf, but it is pretty comparable to grass without the heat that is generated like the old astroturf.

Yeah I figured we'd just use the old shitty technology and not get the new stuff

translation: the turf that everyone's been using for the past 6+ years that actually looks and feels like real grass.

I played a pickup game at Harvard Stadium on their Field Turf, and believe me, it was the biggest pussified thing I ever did. I didn't even get dirty.

frick turf.

I'm sure that is the first thing the school administration will think of when deciding between grass and turf.

Artifical is the pits. Played on it once in a pick up game. I had nearly a foot long layer of skin gone.

Or they could continue to play on that mosh pit they try to pass off as a field.

Seriously, the field has been just dreadful to see. They need to do something.

Seriously, this is the second time someone has mentioned this. They DO NOT use Astroturf anymore, which is like a carpet on top of concrete.

no one has used the old green carpet turf in years, why is that a concern?

We live in the South and grass grows well here. Besides, I love to see a sloppy game of football when it's been raining and everyone is slidding around.

Not when we have a bunch of fricking thoroughbreds running around the field.
