Having it in TS would only be an advantage. It wouldn't hurt anything. Plus, it would look 1000x better. Have you seen the way paint looks on these fields? Imagine having purple and gold on the field instead of purple and greenish yellow.

I've played flag football and baseball on field turf, and I hate it. It still doesn't give like real grass does and players would be more prone to injury, IMO. I would like to see some studies in the next few years regarding injuries on Field turf now that it has been widely used.

To both teams. I agree.

WRONG!!! Does anyone realize the heat that these "field turf" fields put off compared to natural turf?
From a study by BYU scientists, they determined "the surface temperature of the synthetic turf was 37º F higher than asphalt and 86.5º F hotter than natural turf."
Can you imagine trying to play a day game on that hot field during August and September in Baton Rouge? That would be brutal.
You can check out the other findings from this study in this PDF.
"Field turf" is optimal for a few applications: Indoor fields, climates that don't allow grass to grow healthy during the season it is used (mainly the northern states) and as a maintenance shortcut (fields use by many teams or schools with little to no maintenance budget).

Are you saying that we can't handle the heat and ULL can?

all have small maintenance budgets. Do you really WANT to be grouped in with ULM, Tech, West Monroe, Ole Miss, and Tulane?

Just get a better grass crew and this argument will end. We are a goddamn ag school for fricks sake. We have good grass growing climate. And yes I am definitely a traditionalist when it comes to my belief football should be played on grass in all types of weather and conditions. I love watching muddy football games.

this is a retarded statement. i guess ULM and the Ravens are the same since they both play on turf. the maintenance budget isnt the only reason. im sure NFL teams can afford good maintenance crews. this doesnt put us on the above listed schools level, just because we have turf
