Yeldon is a freak. We had a harder time tackling him than we did versus Richardson. I would rank Hill behind him in the SEC.

What about Hilliard?

Could not find anything on him unfortunately. There's got to be something more to his "drop" in power. I don't mean decline, I mean he ran a guy over one game and bust through for 60yds, then the next he got stood up every fricking time? He was no longer effect enough even as a short yardage back.

I really hope he gets back to form because he was really running guys slap over in 2011

we are lucky to have them both. Blue may be a bit tentative at first but once he gets in a comfort zone he will excell. Hill is playing for draft positioning and I expect nothing less than a monster year from him. our young, but talented, oline has had the time to get bigger...stronger...and better. we could quite possibly see two 1Kyd backs and let's don't forget Hilliard who probably has more to prove to himself than anyone. huge numbers and an aggressive run game can only help with the recruitment of LF.

get better.

The toss dive is very effective! But, not on every play.

I think the problem with Hilliard last year was that he fumbled twice in the Towson game. From then on out he seemed to be more focused on not fumbling than just going out and playing ball. Also he had twin girls during the season so obviously that's a mental set back as well. Hopefully he can come back next year and play like he did his FR year.

Hill and Blue will get more carries than Hilliard because they have better speed but all 3 will rotate IMO. Blue is a slasher and Hill is a homerun threat. I think if Cam Cameron has full control of the Offense (I think he will) then we will see a much better offensive scheme and much better production out of the entire offense as a whole.

Is it almost football season?

Toss dive on 3rd and 4 against a 9-man front is ineffective. I looked at our 3rd down conversion percentage and it was like 44% and we ranked 66th in the nation. 3rd conversion and redzone score killed LSU this season. You convert on 3rd down then you have a shot at having better overall offensive numbers.

Blue is a nice back.

Hill is on another level.

Blue is a stud and a great guy. I feel bad he earned the starting spot and got injured. This could be the best tandem ever. I said it.

If Blue and Hill both go to the NFL, which I think they will, this will be huge in the recruiting of LF. "Come to LSU and see immediate play time in game one."

Not that I want them to both leave, just saying.

if i see that many fricking toss dives again this year, i will have lost faith in all play calling abilities.

While i agree , it still works. Some of the longest runs on the year were toss dives.

With a mobile qb, those numbers were way better last year. But hey this is the rant. No one wanted a mobile qb until they realised mett was a sitting duck.

after running it so many times, you are bound for a big break... especially when the opposing defense is gassed from defending it over and over.

On an NFL scale Blue is a 6 and Hill is an 8. Blue will probably find a starters role. Hill definitely will.

I'm probably gonna get blasted for this but oh we'll. those two are going to be like Lacy and Yeldon. Ones a bruiser, the other is a big shifty back.

HIll > than Lacy by a lot
Blue is similar to Yeldon but Yeldon> than Blue

Yeldon > than any back in college

I'll take hill over blue. Having said that, blue is one of the most underrated RBs we've had in a while.

I'm sorry but the only real difference i'm seeing is that Hill is 15lbs heavier and more durable. Some of you "Blue shouldn't run inside guys" and "no real competition" should look at some of the hits he is delivering. He has ran over a few guys and stiff armed the shite outta one guy at the end of the Washington clip.

Blue can run inside. He is capable of it. His problem when he runs inside is injury. For whatever reason his body can't hold up when he does it consistently. There is a reason why Hill emerged. Blue wasn't able to finish the season. I will be a believer when Blue proves he can finish long stretches without injury.
