Nah Correa to third with Bregs at short and Altuve at second.

Correa is 6'4", he's practically an A-Rod clone physically.

ETA: in Astros pre game Luhnow just confirmed Bregmam will stick at SS through minors at least and will figure out where to put the 3 when the time comes.

Well, Houston did just call up the best player in the minor league who just happens to play SS. 2nd base isn't a bad spot for Bregman.

Great for Bregman but he ain't playing 2nd for the Astros.

Not really an ideal situation with Correa and Altuve.

Correa is going to go the way of A-Rod and end up at 3rd.

A-Rod went to third b/c of Jeter. There are no midget SS any longer in MLB (Jeter was b/t 6'2'' - 6'3''). IF he makes it he'll be a 2nd baseman, but he'll be lucky to not get jammed up in high A ball.

Moustasche is going to be pissed

Boy you sure do sweat me a lot.

Why would I be pissed? I still maintain he won't play a single inning at SS at the MLB level. If he can refine his approach and learn to go the other way, his career could be similar to that of former Tiger Aaron Hill---which is pretty good.

Aiken was drafted last year and I slight tear appeared on mri. Houston received some compensation and Houston and Aiken settled on a dollar amount as well. Aiken decided not to sign with ucla and went into training to prepare for 2015 mlb draft.

I don't know, but I know the MLB Players Association was heavily critical of the Astros actions during the negotiation process.

The Astros reduced their offer after a physical revealed an abnormality with Aiken's elbow. And they were justified in part when Aiken's UCL tore earlier this year. If there were pre-draft physicals, the Astros would have seen this abnormality and probably would not have drafted him.

If anything, Aiken's agent should have gotten more scrutiny for the way he fricked Jacob Nix by packaging Aiken and Nix as a tandem. Nix was gonna get seven figures as a fifth-round pick, but got screwed out of it because the agent wouldn't budge from the Astros pre-physical offer to Aiken.

The Astros lost Aiken's slot value by not signing him, and thus reduced the budget they had to sign Nix. So take your easy-target blaming of the Astros, do a little research and put the blame where it belongs: on the agent for a conflict of interest.

Bregman may play second, and Altuve might move to the OF. Altuve's defensive range is limited at second. Or Correa could eventually move to third just based on his 6-foot-4 frame. Even in that scenario, still no guarantee Bregman plays short. May be ticketed for second either way.

The Astros use the shift as much as any team in baseball, so the usual shortstop range and arm needs are not as big as they used to be. The team said tonight Bregman will stay at SS all the way up their system.
