It's not all coach speak.

It's the truth. When your best players are your best people, the team gets along and gels.

When you have unfinished business or your season ends on a sour note, AND you want to improve your draft position, you come back.

Take a look at the guys we've got coming back. Yes, they're going to improve their draft position.... but they also went 5 and 5 and that ain't worth a damn at LSU.

Also the players aren't about NFL or money. They are focused on winning champions.

If it weren't Alabama I would respect and admire them.

We will get there. Given the turbulent season we had; we needed players to step up and even coaches.

Not sure if it happened until end of season.

Why do we use excuses for players or coaches.

I believe another key to their success was having a strength and conditioning program during Covid, while our guys were doing jumping jacks and lifting tree branches.

If you want to dethrone Bama you 100% have to have a veteran team and a top 5 recruiting class.

In 2019 we beat them with a team driven by a #7 recruiting class.

Hate to keep beating a dead horse but it starts on the offensive line. Unless a freak of a quarterback comes along like a cam Newton or Joe Burrow, the team of the best offensive line is going to win.
Bama had some decent players but that offensive line won the national championship for them.

All those same players from 2020 plus a bunch more talent on that 2019 Alabama team didn’t get it done the year before. The “success plan” is great when it works.

This post has nothing to do with LSU. Take it elsewhere.

Also, have a senior laden team and play a bunch of younger teams who didn’t have spring or summer. Also, have no opt outs while others had many. Also, don’t sit any players for Covid while others do. Also, only play 6 teams with winning records and claim greatest season ever while the previous NC beat more teams ranked in the top 10 at 7.

This. Our linemen on both sides were really out of shape this year. I know it was a difficult task, but our S&C staff did a really poor job keeping guys accountable when they weren’t here. They have a lot of ground to be make up starting soon.

There are some interesting things said here.

1) Most of Alabama's players besides Smith had not won a title. So they came in hungry.

2) If players are playing for themselves then they are worried about touches and stats and that becomes more important than the team.

look, of course I want our guys to be the strongest, fastest, and best conditioned. But let’s be real, this isn’t rocket surgery, and most major programs are all probably within 10% of each other.

And also, the main component to productivity is player skill. Added strength and conditioning may add a few % points, but that’s it. It’s mainly about skill and coaching to put the players in the right scheme for their skill set.

Flame away, but this board consistently puts way too much criticism on our S&C coaches.

But, some of those players could've come back.

Just if we don't have the opts outs this team is better.

If the dumbass coach doesn't decide to switch to a 4-3 and hires a good 3-4 dc this team is better
