they have had the #1 ranked recruiting class for what, five years now? if you get the best crop of recruits every year, but can't at least make it to the championship game EVERY YEAR, then i'd chalk that up to some degree of failure.

Saban is one of the best college coaches of all time, it's unfortunate that he's at Alabama, but at least we are competing with the best year in and year out, right?

"Fan" is short for "fanatic". What is a fanatic? A fanatic is somebody prone to irrationality, delusion and emotionalism.
Many die-hard LSU fans are very happy about Bama's loss, and they are going to read many irrational things into it. Here's just a couple of irrational delusions you might hear from the LSU fanatic arising out of the Bama loss:
-- Bama is crashing, so that means LSU is rising
-- Saban and his coaches made a ton of mistakes, so, people who complain about Miles should shut up about Miles's perceived mistakes. Anyway, Saban usually lost three games per season at LSU.
And so on.
Alabama has work to do. LSU has also has work to do. With improved QB play and a great new DC, LSU will be OK. LSU is maybe closer than many thought.
