We have the talent. We have been undercoached for years, Especially on offense. The best athletes in the world can be put in the wrong system and underperform. A good coach builds a system around the players it has. That’s why Bama and Clemson succeed, they adjust to their players. LSU tried to force the same system and it doesn’t work.

This has been debunked a million times moron.

Just stop posting. Other coaches have had great talent and underachieved. MB and LM for starters. So sabans recruiting was better than all others every year at LSU? What about his 9 wins at Toledo? That was recruiting? Lol. What about his top defwnse in nfl at Cleveland? Or his top 5 defenses in Miami? Was that recruiting? Gtfo dumbass.

Saban is no coaching genius. Give just about any college coach 30 NFL players on one roster and he is going to win a lot of games. Saban is a recruiting genius

+1

Put him in a situation with a level playing field talent-wise, such as the NFL where he had to deal with the draft and free agency, and he's not so much the "genius" coach.

Wrong. He’s a great recruiter and a great coach. That’s what makes him great. See my post above idiot.

This place cracks me up. I put up a post with the opinion that Bama in recent years has increased the talent gap over LSU.

So what’s the deal with all the idiot and moron and name calling over a difference of opinion? I find this sort of name calling probably says more about the person doing the insults than the original poster.

I just don’t get how people get so worked up angry over a simple difference of opionion. No worries. Being an old dog I’ve had my share of life’s real problems, so I don’t get too worked up by being called a moron or idiot on a message board by random people I don’t know. I sure have been called worse.

i remain convinced that aside from being close in talent, you absolutely have to break your tendencies. bama will destroy that and lsu has played the bama game straight up every time; we do what we do. try to stop us. well, they did. i don't recall seeing lsu run plays that were just totally out of the ordinary for lsu. you have to throw wrinkles at them. freeze was good at that. also, jefferson came in and the option game caught them off guard.

or you have to hope you can catch them on an off day like clemson in the ncg, which the odds of that are extremely slim

he is probably the greatest recruiter ($) that ever lived but that is biggest part of being a great college coach. But looks like Orgeron is starting to close that gap. Hopefully some of the 5* type big hogs start landing in our recruiting classes as well

the idea of going toe to toe smash mouth style and "breaking their will" is just retarded.

true but you can't just reinvent your self for that one game. You have to work on and develop an offense that has a chance of working against teams with more talent than you and refine it over the course of the season and over many seasons. Loved Coach Miles and all but offense philosophy was his blind spot

Yep. There are very few hcs that are great at recruiting and great at the x and O aspect of football and that's what makes them the best coaches in cfb.

The guy you're responding to is 100% correct. I despise Saban after the way he left here but he recruits the best, he gets results the wants, usually. He will not accept piss poor performances.

Saban: I want you to do it exactly, not close to this, but exactly like this.

He demands excellence and that's how he coaches. Don't get me wrong, I get great jubilation when Bama loses but it's seldom.

I feel the same way about Saban after the way he left LSU, but you're spot on about how Saban demands the best from his players and coaches.

He's one of the best in college football history. it's just been a damn shame that we have to square off with him each and every year.

Yep. Completely agree. I always go into our game with Alabama thinking the best but lately, it hasn't been anything to get really excited about.
