I'm not a player and I'm sick of one team, one heart beat. I can't even imagine how sick of it they are.
PSA: This is strictly my opinion.

Plenty of coaches have their stupid sayings that they say over and over for years. It helps define the program.
Flecks is "row the boat". Herman is "coach kissie face" and Saban is "the process".
I prefer Orgerons "one team one heartbeat" as it is all encapsulating of working together as one team, rowing the boat, on the same page, and towards one goal and more catchy than 'the process'

Then you can thank Florida State for letting O steal it.

Is “8 win season” catchy as well?

I think you make a pretty valid point. I would only add that all three of those coaches have had more than one successful season. Schiano had his chopping wood slogan. Even with success, I think the coaches need to change it up.
I would disagree with putting Saban in that group. To me, the others are gimmicks to motivate while being process oriented and results oriented is Saban's coaching philosophy which applies to how you practice.

Now, let's be fair. That was a USC thing, too.
quote:
USC interim head coach Ed Orgeron has instilled a newfound sense of family in his players, and the team has adopted the motto of “One team, one heartbeat,” for the remainder of the season.

I'm interested to see what else Orgeron can come up with to motivate the team.

I'm pretty sure other coaches have used "one heartbeat" before as well as "row the boat" and having a "process". etc. The only new one might be Hermans "line up and get a kiss from the HC before the game starts" and he can keep that one.

The kiss thing is dumb to me too. A hug maybe, but even that is stopping the line for over 100 people each time a player passes the coach. Just lead them and turn around with a high 5 if you feel the need to show each one love. Imagine being the 90th kid in line. Be like trying to goto the bathroom at Sport's, or I guess it's Reggie' s now. I'm old.
