Personally, as an avid fan, I will remember his decision to start the bottom of his bullpen in Game 1 of the CWS Final vs FL

But, honestly, just as Miles was, he has been a great ambassador for LSU. I have met him unexpectedly on 3 occasions. sidelines for a football game, Game 3 of 2016 WS in Chicago included, and he could not have been more approachable.

I think he does a great job of figuring out his best lineup as the season progresses. The Lemahieu to 2nd and Nola to short being a prime example.

Being an a-hole. Saban was an a-hole but he won. Mainieri is a whiny baby a-hole bitch.

Smoke Laval

You guys must not remember how bad Smoke was. I was a student during those years and it was horrible. Talk about handling pitchers- he wasted the careers of Justin Meier, Clay Dirks, and nearly wasted Coleman and Bradford. His recruited a team of Adam Dunn’s who couldn’t hit for average.

Alienating local high school coaches, bailing on appearances, and camps he promised to attend.

This isn't from me. I have heard this from several coaches. In fact, pretty much every local baseball coach has a "frick Mainieri" story.

He is the anti-Orgeron.
