Need a few more games to decide this. For now, need to better protect Mett/not hold onto ball as long. Mett is a huge upgrade at QB.

Your opinion...I see areas of concern that tilt me toward having realistic expectations of this team when we play SEC caliber competition and, in particular, on the road. I don't see this as over-reacting.

I guess you and I were watching different games. I have my evaluation of what I saw but i elected not to elaborate on it. The sky isn't falling but if what you witnessed in that game gives you the confidence of us going undefeated, then we just see things differently. It will not surprise me if LSU loses 2 or 3 games this year. I will be surprised if they go undefeated. That to me is "keeping it real".

Do you not acknowledge that we lost two days of practice this week to a fricking hurricane? Fans like you are the most awful to listen to. We dominated like we should have. Had we played Michigan, we would have dominated just like Bama did. We're set up to have a great year, and seeing you claim this team will have two to three losses is just laughable.

just after last night hell no we wont be 14-0. we played like poo. the oline managed to get our qb hurt by wiffing on a block, our dline was getting zero pressure, wrs dropping the ball and the playcalling was dog poo. You combine that with how bama looked and we will be lucky to cross the 40 this time.

Holy shite you're stupid.

C'mon man...you know the answer to that. LSU was the only D1 team that wasn't flawless yesterday. Every other team in the country was a harmonious blend of the '85 Bears and the "Greatest Show on Turf."

The only reason (justifiably so) for this is that these unhappy fans know for sure that there will definitely be no improvement from now onwards.

Mett has low chances of improving from his first game as starter, the secondary (with new starters who will remain green throughout the year and gain no experience) is probably going to play fast and loose and give up multiple TDs every quarters, the OL would refuse to gel and end up giving multiple sacks.

Too early to tell, but I saw nothing to indicate we won't be very good once we work out the kinks. The potential is there. I'd rather peak in November than September.

Losing TM7 and RR hurts. I don't think we go undefeated this season.

I'm looking for 12-1 though.

Who realistically thought the transition from last years offense to an offense that throws more would go without a few hiccups? They'll be fine. I'd rather them struggle a little against N Texas and Washington so they can get the kinks worked out by the time they get to conference play. D was solid except for a few boneheaded plays. Special teams is one of, if not the best in the country again this year. Hell, the offense "struggled" and they still won by 27 points. They could still go 14-0.

A lot will come to light after the Dawgs.

Glad we have Mett, just feel we need a more vocal leader on defense.

Yes. First game. Things to work on and get better, it's a process.

Last year was magic. Don't know if things will work out as well this season.

Honest thoughts the next day-
We had some issues yesterday.

Some can be fixed-
Mett should become quicker and better with his reads.
Our O-line should get better with pass protection.

Some can't be fixed-
our defense isn't as fast in the secondary. We lack Claiborne/Mathieu/Brooks type speed... the 80 yd pass was disturbing, because the WR was pulling away from everyone on the play. Gonna have to play softer to cover that against better teams, and our lack of size then comes into play.

We're not #1 as of now. I'd say a great team with strong pass rush, speed at WR, and power run can give us trouble. Not to say there are a ton of teams that could beat us, but there are some holes showing as of now.

After last night, we are a 1-0 team. It's too soon to tell how the rest of the season will shake out.

Taking the P&G glasses off and being objective, do we look like a team that can go undefeated this season? This is not a "sky is falling" thread. I'm trying to be realistic. I feel I under evaluated our inexperience defensively. I hope I'm wrong, but I see us losing 2 maybe 3 games this year. BAMA, Arkansas, and one other "not suppose to lose" road games like Auburn or Florida. Just trying to keep it real.

There's no way they're going undefeated after watching them last night. Play-calling is going to be the death of this team.

You see how Oklahoma looked last night? They were winning 10-7 in the 4th quarter. Florida struggled. USCe struggled. Stanford struggled. Arkansas struggled. Texas struggled. Each of these teams looked pretty bad against cream puffs.

There is no preseason in NCAA, so coaches test and install new packages against these teams. Calm down.

We will be undefeated when Bama comes to town, that fateful day will determine our season.

based upon what I saw last night, LSU will beat everyone but Bama this year. With all their losses to the NFL, Bama looked every bit as good as they did in the national championship game imo.

It never ceases to amaze me how many brilliant play callers there are in our fan base. What plays were called, since you were clearly wired into the coaches communication devises and all.
