We're screwed.

I tried to tell everyone (and still do) that last year was 2004 re-made.

Screw practice, give both a chance to get it done in the games under similar conditions then roll with the best.

Careful, I used this same basic argument about the second half on 1/9/12 and got blasted for it.
Common sense is often frowned upon here.

You do know that was last year and that AJ is probably the quintessential practice MVP

I don't know that it's click bait necessarily. If nothing else the work ethic part was telling. Fans wanted to believe that Miles loved Jennings and was too stubborn to play Harris. BH even posted on his twitter that his work ethic wasn't what it needed to be. This article pretty much takes a dump on the notion that Miles is holding back Harris. Harris was holding back Harris. I'm glad to hear that that appears to be a thing of the past and Harris has been taking his role more seriously. He certainly has the talent to be special.

You should have been benched and tried something...ANYTHING different than watching you flip the ball to their linebackers.

Looks like a whole lot of nothing, mixed in with heavy speculation provided by a bunch of non existent sources.

Agree, and believe that Harris will be the guy and start the season. Think the extra time with the receivers while Jennings was suspended will only help him. Need Harris to be ready for us to get the most out of our receiving core.

i'm still banking on harris winning the job outright and starting this season.

Oh gee, I don't know. How about trying anything and everything to try to find a spark or flip momentum. It's the freaking national championship game, leave no stone unturned. Switch to Lee, pull out all the stops in the play book. It's desperation time, do it all, unless you're happy losing in embarrassing fashion, which is exactly what occurred
There's absolutely no excuse for not inserting Lee and giving him a shot. JJ clearly wasn't getting it done (44 plays -92 yards). Maybe not all his fault, but sometimes a change at QB can bring new energy. Why we didn't use every weapon at our disposal is just beyond me.

how bad must have Rettig and Rivers been
The only way we will see what they have is to watch what they do on the other teams they transferred to?

This is such garbage from the scrub Advocate wanna be writer. Word is that the ex players spoke to Dellenrook and he promised he would protect them as his sources. Then he makes it known his sources are a former fullback and tight end who played last year and have graduated. Just outed his sources! Let's see which active players will even talk to this loser this season. Message to Advocate: get rid of the attention whore crap writer and get a real sportswriter to complement Rabalais!

Harris “should be the guy,” one player said. The sophomore and former highly touted four-star prospect is “meshing” with receivers more than ever this summer while Jennings has been suspended.
“Receivers feel great because they’ve only solely worked with Brandon,” the player said. “They have that bond.”
Harris is emerging from a learning curve that kept him on the bench for the last half of last season. There are signs of it everywhere, one player said — even down to the way offensive coordinator Cam Cameron speaks to the Bossier City native.
At times last year, Cameron seemed “irritated” at Harris and spoke to him “with a chip on his shoulder,” the former player said. That’s changed.
“He talks to Brandon more man-to-man,” the ex-player said.
Harris is asking more questions in meetings, and he’s accepting more criticism. They were things missing last year.
“Coaches wanted the most talented guy to work hard,” one player said. “Last year, he didn’t.”
Harris has gained about 15 pounds from his playing weight of last season. He weighs about 210, the goal coaches asked him to meet. He spent more time earlier this summer with QB guru George Whitfield, too.
In a way, it seems the staff wants Harris to take the job by the reins and hold on tight. Some of Miles’ recent comments paint a picture of a coach who wishes his young talent from north Louisiana would emerge as the No. 1 guy — or at least do enough to earn it.
“After the summer, it’ll be interesting to see what Brandon Harris looks like,” Miles said with a smirk. “I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things. It would be nice to see.”
The door seems open for Harris, after Jennings’ suspension and his rocky play last season. He’s just got to walk through it.

I don't know how someone could read the article (not just the headline) and take from it anything other than that Harris is the likely starter.
Put the gun down...
