So, you think a pole vaulter is more worthy than Cannon?

LSU is not going to build a statue for someone that didn't graduate from LSU. There are criteria for athletics statues on campus.

Not only that he also turned his back on the United States of America

I would have him stripped from the LSU record books before giving him a statue

Remind me again how many nattys Shaq and Pete won.
I said nothing regarding the team accomplishments

Shaq and Pete were both voted Player of the Year

Mondo was runner up in his big individual event that year

Mondo doesn’t hold a candle to someone like Glen Hardin I mentioned earlier for lsu track who won multiple individual NCAA titles while here at lsu while also having Olympic gold and world records

Mondo will be the all time greatest pole vaulter. But as far as an lsu track athlete, his accolades aren’t even near the top. Not even close. We have multiple track athletes with MULTIPLE ncaa individual titles

For recency bias if you want, go compare Sha’cari Richardson lsu achievements vs mondo. She trumps him completely

Both were here only one year

Richardson won the ncaa title in her discipline and won The National Track Athlete of the year (Bowerman)

Mondo did neither

Talking about pole vaulting.

On a scale of 1-10 - how much infulence pole vaulting has on american youth.

And you want to make a statue of the guy?

So many football greats at LSU dont even have a statue.

the lady who won gold for St Lucian runs for Texas.

But Mondo went to LSU and is from Louisiana.

Blame USA for their selection process.

Anshelm also offered his father a job for the national track and field team to coach his son, which is not permitted by the U.S. team. The U.S. team relies on an Olympic trial process for qualification, while Sweden looks at the overall records from their national team selection across the competitive season.

No

The USA is not to “blame”. Their selection process is there for very good reasons.

Mondo made a decision to better himself personally. Fine by me. But don’t blame the USA for that

The amount of people who think the US needs to bend over backwards to accommodate one athlete is crazy
