Should’ve stayed at Illinois. But I’m sure they didn’t want him lol

That’s right shite on a kid who’s a model college athlete with a great attitude and tireless worker coming off an ACL all to deflect criticism from the coach, where the responsibility by definition belongs. What a sad sack you are.

Miller is not a bad 3-point shooter as he is at 33% for the season and scored 16 and 15 in the previous SEC games, but his shot selection is poor. He had a good first half tonight scoring 8 and never scored in the 2nd half (and had some terrible shots).

His real issue is outside of 3-point shots that he hits, he has very little scoring ability as of now. He is shooting only 37% from the field and passes up obvious easy shots for more difficult ones (like he did tonight when the announcer noted how he passed up an easy lay up to pass it back out of the paint). The announcer was totally puzzled. I think McMahon needs to coach the whole team better on shot selection. They barely ever take jump shots in the lane. It's either a 3 or usually getting swatted under the goal unless it's KJ.

Opposing defenses are keying on him. Does he get some open looks that he needs to knock down more? Yes but he is also being given a lot of attention preventing him from getting into a rhythm and also is coming off a knee injury so there is bound to be sluggish fatigue.

He will find his shot and hit it down more but he is the only other scorer on this team and is having to take more bad shots just because we don't have a consistent 3rd scorer to keep the defense honest.

The kid is pressing, you can see it on the court. I don't think he is completely over the knee injury (mentally) and it's affecting his game.
But, he's far from lazy out there. Just trying to do too much on a team that needs someone to score.

I believe Hill is also struggling with confidence, but not from a injury.

Miller looks like he tries on defense, so i'll give him that. He does pretty decent on ball, it's off the ball where he gets caught not paying attention to man and ball.

There was a play last night that really showed who he is, and also why some people don't like what basketball is becoming in the 3 point era.
He cut baseline and received a pass right under the basket, and could have very easily done a reverse layup with no one on him, but instead passed it out to the 3 point line. He then ran to the three point line and got the pass right back, and was wide arse open, but didn't take the shot, then he dribbled past his guy and got to the free throw line, where he could have easily taken a wide open jump shot or floater, or even tried to get to the rim, but instead brought it back out (even though his defender fell down after he went by him). SO he brings it back up top and ends up taking a contested step back 3 (the stupidest and worst shot in all of basketball unless you're James Harden), and misses it.

Honestly, would have been better for him and the team if he had transferred. It always appears to me to be a four player team and Miller on the court.
