Alabama -10

Just an interesting note

If Miles were the coach, it'd be wider. As the game gets closer and I think if LSU kills Ole Miss, like I think they will, it'll be 6-7 point line, IMO

You've got it pegged, Prom. And those who are crowning Hurts at QB are going to be surprised how much he struggles against the LSU defense.

They have scored a D/ST TD in 10 straight games

The one last week took an egregious hold of the RB on a screen pass. It was so bad ESPN replayed it from 3 different angles to talk about it. They got away with another bad hold on early in the drive, but what else is new.

It's not like it really mattered though. Tennessee was due for a taste of reality.

Really. You really believe Bama is going to beat LSU by 20+ in TS? Ridiculous.

I think it's a strong possibility and there's absolutely nothing ridiculous about it.

You really don't believe that their competition, as far as defense, has been pretty much subpar?

WHILE....

They give up 473 yards up to Arkansas
They give up 522 yards up to Ole Miss

Really the only two potent offenses they've faced this year (while on the road).

If it makes you feel better, then I'll say Tennessee was a good team they demolished (although I think Tennessee is mediocre).

I'm not saying Alabama is a fraud at all. They're excellent as always. But I'm not buying AT ALL what the media, BAMA fans, and some LSU fans are saying in "they could be one of the best teams ever" or "Saban's best team." The media has basically handed them the NC already. I'm not ready to do that.

LSU/bama is by far the best game of the day. Florida/Arkansas is 2nd best. Nationally.

. Almost every pass we do now is play action and that simply takes too long

i've noticed this also. drop and set up seem to take about 4 seconds. ball hangs up a while. I don't know where all that time will come from against sec defenses.

I spoke with a 2 SEC fans last week before the UT/Bama game. One Georgia fan and one UT fan and they both thought UT had a chance to beat Bama. I laughed and told them UT wasn't that good. They were living on borrowed time and Bama was going to crush them!

We have to get the ball out of Etlings hands quickly. Bamas defense will have their ears pinned back and coming for him. We have to burn them with some quick passes early and make them respect the passing game.

Ole Miss has ZERO run defense. They give up 260+ yards per game.

That's what they said about Southern Miss.

I think their freshman qb gets an awakening in TS.

He was supposed to get one in Neyland Stadium with 103,000 Volunteers creamsicling his arse. Bama's QB is "Undefeatable."

Bama hasn't beaten LSU by 20+ in TS since 2002. The last three Bama victories in TS were two OT wins and a four point regulation win. A strong argument can be made that LSU should have prevailed in the last two games in Tiger Stadium. In terms of prospective NFL draft picks and recruiting rankings, LSU is the most talented team that Bama has faced all season. That's indisputable. Moreover, this talented LSU squad will be riding a tidal wave of optimism caused by the coaching change, and they are going to be playing with a lot of rage because none of them have ever beaten Bama. And they have nothing to lose, very little pressure. Worse still for the Tide, the crowd will have renewed optimism and enthusiasm. Further, Bama brings a freshman QB into Death Valley against an athletic and improving defense. On the other side of the ball, for the first time in recent memory, LSU appears to have a more seasoned QB with pocket presence and the capacity to go through his progressions. He helms an offense that has set records both times it has taken the field since Miles' dismissal.

Recent history, objective talent evaluation, and circumstance all indicate this will be a grueling war for Bama, not a blowout. In fact, I think LSU is going to win. I'll be back to mock you when we don't lose by 20+.
