According to JC’s sources Wade held on to the text and turned them over to the NCAA.

He held them because he wanted to report the VCU fiancé extortion to law enforcement authorities and the NCAA. The NCAA that is accusing him of Level 1 violation for this matter got the text from Wade. He thought he was doing the right thing.

He mentioned 2 other Level 1 allegations.
One was concerning Moussa Cisse that was offered $300K but that allegation is just a he said she said allegation with no proof. Furthermore if Bill Armstrong offered Cisse $300K what did Memphis offer to land him? The allegation sounds shoddy.
The other Level 1 allegation is concerning running into Christian Watford and his mom at a restaurant in Birmingham. A bama fan took a picture of Christian (Trendon's brother) and his mom visiting with Wade and Bill Armstrong in the restaurant and sent the picture to the NCAA and the NCAA made that into a Level 1 violation somehow.

IMO this is starting to look like a setup by the NCAA and Woodward using the media to stir up a controversy at a critical time to give the appearance of cause so Woodward can fire Wade and bring in his guy.

You are right.
But it is a Level 1 allegation. All we are dealing with allegations right now. The NCAA can make up any allegation they please within reason.
I know there are a lot of WW haters on this board who are buying the NCAA narrative hook line and sinker but give it some time and allow LSU and WW to respond to the allegations. Taking their side of the story into account too is at least the fair approach.

The offer from Armstrong is not an allegation. LSU is fighting some but two violations are already determined.
