Third year???? I thought interm records don't count???? Make up your mind CHOCTAW..................
who is "Choctaw"?

not sure what interm is but, *interim* records don't count insofar as talking about Orgeron's record as a head coach (which is 20 - 29 btw).
but we are not talking about record here. we are talking about giving O a chance.
well, O was given a chance in 2016. and by all accounts, it seemed that everyone, O supporters and O not supporters alike, agreed that with 7 games remaining on the 2016 schedule, anything less than 6-1 would not get O the permanent job. pretty much everyone was ready to move on from O after the UF loss, you can go search the archives and see for yourself, I do not think a single person was trying to defend O and say he deserved the permanent gig. that was O's first chance to win fans over.
despite being shut out by bama and completely biffing it vs florida O got the permanent gig. 2017 was his second chance to win fans over. things started out promising enough with 2 convincing wins, but the worst loss to miss state in 90 years and the first loss to a sun belt program , ever, took the shine off that 2-0 start. a frustrating bowl loss kicked off an offseason most LSU fans would already rather forget, with a very underwhelming OC hire and an equally underwhelming recruiting class.
so yes, 2018 will be his third chance to convince fans hes the man for the job. I didn't think I needed to explicitly spell it out for you, but here we are.

Accepting Mediocrity is the first step to irrelevanceThis is a sentiment I've preached in my personal life to my kids, employees, friends, youth teams, and pretty much anyone who will listen. When you accept mediocrity, you set yourself up for irrelevance and ultimately, failure.

So the 9 wins he had mean nothing????

Accepting you're a retard should be the first step.

No, they don’t.
When did winning 9 games in the regular season become something LSU fans cheered on ? Maybe 20 years ago, sure.

Exactly.
2018 and Orgeron is entering into his third season.
Despite the pumpers wanting to obscure this fact, he was hired to exceed and improve on Miles.
Time for results next season with no lame excuses.
Otherwise, it’s time for Alleva and O to hit the road.

So did everyone else in the SEC... Yet the O haters won't bring that up... BTW its easy to say after the season... Was its O's fault teams fired their coaches???? Did we lose to one of those teams??? NO... Was it O's fault that the teams we faced had shitty teams???? NO...... The loss to Troy was unexcusable.. But losing to MSU happens.. Just Like Bama losing to Ole Miss.... Nobody brings that up.... We lost to Bama.. So does everybody else... And yes we had the bowl game won if O had the balls to go for it by sing his best player.. However.. we HAD the lead until Arandas defense gave up 80 yards like butter... But I still blame O.... I agree we should not have fired A coach to only get the same results but lets see what happens.... I still believe we go 6-6 next year, and O was the wrong hire... But I will give him credit for something Miles had trouble doing... He [O] responded better than Miles did the last few years after getting beat by Bama... Yes we lost to Bama the lst coule years BUT we rebounded very strong the rest of the way under O than we had been under Miles....
But whatever...........

I've seen this said a few times and I have an honest question. What other time should the strength of the schedule be judged other than after the end of the season?

I remember you defending the mediocrity from miles

quote:This was done years ago - over my objections. It started on 1/9/2012. Les Miles was the epitome of mediocrity from Day 1. And don't lecture me on the NC. It was handed to him by his predecessor and the Championship culture he created. Miles eventually dragged the program down to his coaching level. It just took a little time.
Accepting Mediocrity
His supporters could not see the woods for the trees. AKA: Kennel Blindness
ETA: Forgot to mention we won't learn a damn thing.

I was not a fan at all of Miles' coaching style and actually wanted him to leave for Michigan, but this statement is just ridiculous.

I understand what you are saying and I agree... However the O bashers and spoiled rotten fans are doing whatever they can to use the AFTER schedule to cut him down.... To be fair the 2011 schedule ended up be weaker than it was during the season....
Just look at where some of those teams finished compared to when we played them...
Just an example....
