This is a sentiment I've preached in my personal life to my kids, employees, friends, youth teams, and pretty much anyone who will listen. When you accept mediocrity, you set yourself up for irrelevance and ultimately, failure.

Too many fans are saying that those of us who want to compete for championships are "spoiled" and "whinny". My question to you is this, what in the hell is spoiled about wanting to compete for championships? What would you have us do, accept 8-4 seasons? Isn't that why we fired the last guy? By being OK with O going 8-4 you setting the program up for the big fall which could take a decade to rebuild. THAT is the problem with O as a head coach. He's under qualified and could do extreme damage to a program that, 4 years ago, was in the national title conversation EVERY frickING YEAR!

Now, do I believe O is accepting mediocrity? Of course not. I actually think the man is giving it his best. Unfortunately, his best is not good enough. All of the sudden LSU is surrounded by some of the best coaches in all of college football. They no longer just have to go through Saban. In the upcoming season alone they will face (arguably) 5 of the top 10 coaches in college football in Richt, Mullen, Smart, Saban, and Fisher. The jury is out on Moorhead, but I do think he may end up being really, really good.

Do you really want to O matching wits with the best coaches in football? I sure as hell don't. But you go ahead and accept mediocrity and see where the program ends up in the next fews years.

And constantly bitching on the internet equates to “not accepting mediocrity”?

That’s a load of BS. Stop buying tickets is the only way the fan can show the administration that they’re fed up. Anything else is just a waste of time and energy.

I won't be getting rid of my tickets because I do believe LSU will come back one day. And, honestly, I like my seats

I have, however, significantly dialed back my donations to TAF and the University general fund. From what I understand, I'm not the only one and it is a significant amount. Not enough to affect much as far as spending capacity, but enough to send a message.

So wanting to see the program succeed equals snowflake now?

At the end of the day, its not.

But you ARE accepting mediocrity (according to your model) by keeping your tickets.

In one fell swoop 0 has taken expectations from an SEC Championship or National Championship to maybe 8-9 wins and only losing to Bama by less than three TDs.

You confuse incessant whining with desire to compete for championships. You also confuse being positive with accepting mediocrity. I hope in teaching your children to not accept mediocrity, you also teach them not to whine and complain. Otherwise, you are raising brats.

At this point, I'd rather Ensminger as head coach.

I actually don't think we should fire him right now, just that we should expect more out of the program as a whole. Too many posters on here think going 8-4 is a successful season.

Dude you live in Louisiana. Mediocrity is a goal, irrelevance is the norm. Just look around you.
Where is the superior? Education? Infrastructure? Health? Safety? Politics? Environment?

All this constant blabber about accepting mediocrity is pretty irrelevant.

Our baseball program survived Smoke Laval and it will survive Coach O.

No I don't. It's a message board. What do you expect people to do? Not bitch about what they see? Not bitch about the trajectory of the program? What else should they do? You do realize it is possible to support the program and team while still being critical of the path it's currently on?

No. We should get Alleva fired, let O coach the season and if he's under 10 wins again, yes, part ways.

No problem with this.... Alleva should have been gone.... O will not be here after next year anyway... 6-6 will not keep him this job... no matter who the AD is.....

Curious, just how do you know this? Admit it, you don't know jack about Orgeron or what he is capable of. You look at the surface and make a judgement without any knowledge of what you are talking about. As for me, no, I do not accept mediocrity. But I will admit, I do not know what he is able to do and will accept the fact that he is our coach and will wait to see the results. And by the way, you are in fantasy land if you think we were in title contention every year. Name the year besides 2011 we were in title contention. Are you counting the year when we were ranked 2nd in the first playoff poll and then lost 3 of the next four games.
