Who cares.

LSU controls it's own destiny.

They win out and they are going to the BCSCG

Really, Texas is probably not even a top 20 team.

Texas barely beat a bad BYU team in Austin.

OU has looked very sharp in all their games and could be considered #1 but for us it doesn't matter. As others have said, we just have to win.
The race for #2 is more difficult to call with an undefeated in every conference (excpet BE).

ABC doesn't have the SEC contract, so they have to say this. OU beat a crappy Texas team -- LSU dominated an upper tier SEC foe -- which counts for more. It's the SEC, just a fact of life.

ABC = ESPN = SEC Contract. But I do agree that they just want to stir the pot, raise the ratings (as if the ratings are raised by their bullshite analysis, I'm pretty sure I would still watch if they didn't give me opinions )

If OU became #1, the next week after LSU or Alabama wins they would start the campaign for them to be #1. And so it goes....

agreed ... they are just trying to stir the pot to gain interest and get people talking and watching more of their shows to hear their analysis.

Who cares? I don't give a rat's arse what we are ranked in Ocotober. All LSU has to do is win out and they will be in the 'ship'.

West Virginia will very likely end the season ranked in the top 10 as well as Oregon and Bama. Not so sure Arkansas will. They still cannot stop the run and if they play a balanced team they will get schooled. Remember, Arky was a choke job away from being 4-2 right now.

not sure OU has played a legit top 25 team yet. FSU is definitely not. Texas is not a top 25 team, if you look at their wins.

Assuming LSU and Bama are undefeated going into their game on Nov. 5, the winner of that game will in all likelihood be no. 1 in all polls, computers, and the BCS rankings. Until then the current poll standings don't really matter. And, of course, the important thing is for LSU to be at least no. 2 in the final BCS standings, which they will be if they win out.

it ain't gonna happen... follow the money.
# 1 vs # 2 is a HUGE $ game.

The game is not on ABC, is it not logical for ABC to want to weaken the event ?

If LSU jumped OK because of beating ranked teams, why would they jump LSU back.. all you have is biased people doing their propaganda....for their own agenda.

Is it logical that any talking points could weaken this event?
