Okay, so where in the hell do we tailgate not to get the shite beat out of us by the cops.

We have music, but don't throw beers...

RV parking and the overall parking siutation,

I would suggest parking the RV's at the Coliseum...I remember Auburn fans brought a bunch of RVs up and thats where they parked...its only $40 for the whole weekend and you set up shop whereever you can fit...Friday nights at the coliseum lots are pretty damn fun...

Parking can be a pain in the arse simply because its not flat...

If you stay/park at the coliseum, they have buses that run before and after the games...its a couple bucks round trip if you want to go that route...its probably a mile from the Coliseum to the Football Stadium...

As far as bars go close by the stadium...Keglers is about it...

also, for some reason, the lot I park in is never on any WVU parking maps...its the LIGHT GREEN LOT and its the little highlighted box i made on this picture...Its a nice flat, easy walk to the stadium and they allow you to pay each game if you dont have a pass ($40 i believe, but if you have several people, just split it)...I have an actual pass there, and its a great spot to tailgating...I always see visiting fans park there and mingling with WVU fans...Its a big church parking lot right in the corner of that main intersection...theres a pretty good size grass lot at the back of the parking lot with plenty of room for passing football, cornhole, beer pong, whatever...

Thanks for all the info. Great Post!
I have a question...
I am looking to book a place close to the campus and the Best Western and Quality Inn are the closest with vacancies that weekend that I can find. They appear to be in a part of town called Star City.
My question is...Is this a decent part of town? Also, can we walk to campus and to the stadium from that area or would we still need to drive or catch a suttle?
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed...

Section....Star City is bascially where the WVU Coliseum is...Its the main exit off of I-79 that leads to the Coliseum then the football stadium...

Its a pretty good walk to the football stadium, but close enough to the Coliseum where you can pick up a shuttle...

and yes, Star city is a fine part of town with a lot of chain restaurants and a smaller strip Mall (right off the exit)...Outback, Olive Garden, Cheddars, Texas Roadhouse, Chilis etc are all off the Star City exit...Theres a pretty cool bar in Star City called "Crockett's Lodge"...Hit that up, its a pretty good time...

If you want to see the main downtown campus, you will need to drive...

Heres a link to Crockett's as well as all the other bars/clubs in Morgantown..

The stadium can get loud if the opponent is of the right caliber...I'd say you fit the bill. I've heard stories where they said you could feel the upper decks move because the crowd was going absolutely nuts.

I would probably stay at the Quality Inn. That would be the closest walk to the shuttle at the Coliseum and if you stand outside you can probably hear the band rehearsing on Friday evening.

Below I have the Quality Inn in gold, the WVU Coliseum in blue, and Milan Puskar Stadium off to the right. The walk from the hotel to the shuttle at the Coliseum would be about 400-500 yards. $4.00 round trip per person. The shuttle follows the red route and drops you off at the Blue Lot. This is also where they will pick you up after the game.

I am extremely excited for you guys to be coming. When fan bases of your caliber visit Morgantown the vast majority of the WVU faithful go above and beyond to make visitors feel as welcome as possible. It's going to be an amazing atmosphere for Saturday night primetime football!

Old Mountaineer Field was located just below Woodburn Hall on WVU's Downtown Campus. You can see Woodburn in the upper right hand corner in the first picture, then in the center of the second picture. The stadium would have been where the red square is. The half circular building is the School of Business and Economics and the building at the bottom of the picture is the new Life Sciences Building.

If you do not have a banjo and old log, both will be provided for you once you cross the state line.
