A really pleasant surprise in hiring Kiffin

Throughout this whole debacle, Lane Kiffin and everyone up the chain to the governor have had incredible message discipline.
Lane hasn't mentioned any other coach.
Lane hasn't encouraged any type of retaliation.
Lane hasn't spoken about the federal case at all, that I am aware of.
The closest he got was saying, "I don't know how you can decide which TROs to follow."
Who would have thought he would be the adult in the room?

But in general, I wish a few politicians (namely the governor) would have occasional "stop talking" discipline.

Its a great strategy.
Perform and focus. If someone gets mad play the "i didnt know we couldnt do that card"
We havent had any stupid player shite happening either. Like lineman punching windows or bar fights with star qb.

It's wild how many things a head coach at big time football programs have to deal with. Media, politics, NIL, 105 players, their families, ect.. I know they have a gigantic team of support staff, but they still have to know what's going on in ever area of the program...then be a great coach on top of all of it.
They are a different breed, and Lane is one of the best. Seems he's handled all of it just about as well as one could hope.

Really great point. They are proving the consistency in the messaging and alignment we hoped they’d have. Couldn’t be happier with the result.
