I didn't say we didn't have talent to fit his system.
I was sticking up for RR at Michigan.

we have such a wide array of talent that we could be pretty good at just about any type of offense from wishbone triple to texas tech air raid.

Boise currently ranks in the top 35 in both rushing and passing offense.

Which ever OC that has put the most QB's and receivers in the NFL.

Anyone have a name?

1st off, he's fat.

2nd, he seems like the type of guy that wouldn't take a college OC job after being a head coach at one of the most prestigous schools in the country. Just seems like he thinks he's too good for that. I think he would get another coordinator job in the NFL if he was fired at ND.

the spread doesn't take 2 years to learn

Then why did Auburn struggle with it in 1 year (2008)?

Do you seriously think the man would leave a head coaching gig to be an offensive co.? I mean I could see if he was a coach at a FBS school. But not while he is coach at T. Tech.

UF runs the spread option, not the spread

and we have a spread OC. it wouldn't be an "offensive overhaul"

Not sure you can say that with all of our talent. You got to have certain type of OL/ for a certain type of offense. With a spread offense for example our OL would have to block downfield all the way into the second level on a number of plays. I don't think all of our OL is conditioned for that type of stuff. It is mostly conditioned for a more traditional offense.

1. shite talent

2. tubbs' old school assistants refused to help franklin out

with a spread we'd be passing 40-50 times a game

how many times would they be blocking downfield?

Auburn didn't have the personnel. no WR's, no QB that'll kill you every time if you want to run the air raid.

Their new offense is predicated on running, with a shite load of misdirection, to set up the pass. and they get their RBs (where there talent always is) heavily involved in the passing game.

under franklin it was dink and dunk with precision passing and precision timing. Frankling claims that he has married air raid with the misdirection spread run game. Maybe he has but what I saw them do was not necessarily all his stuff. There was a mutiny on the offensive staff too - that never helps.

I thought I made a post about who would be good for LSU? How are we discussing Auburn, etc?

I also think maybe we could get the HC from TCU or at least their OC - well they have 2 so either one. They seem to be doing pretty well...

Far fetched for anyone to say LSU can bring in a current head coach to be our OC. Especially a big name guy, it just wont happen.

nobody mentioned BYU's OC or Shaw from Stanford.

how great would that be, we can dream

I wasn't sure if they did or not. My point is that I think the guy is smart enough to work with our talent. Crowton's problem is he can't. OC's job is to build a system that works WITH the talent. I really think this guy could do a helluva job in BR.
