Bryan Harsin from Boise State. He is young and he runs a great offense. he is also a QB coach so he can develop talent at that position. Lets be honest - what coach would not take that jump?

I think it would be a good choice. He started in 2006 as OC so he would have been the guy that beat OU!!

We need some new energy, young, and wide open on offense. We have the weapons for it.

Does he run the spread offense? If he does, than it will take one or two years to install such a system. Not saying it would be a bad hire, it just depends on what sort of offensive philosophy you like.

Unless you are Rich Rod.

Then it takes one year longer than the time you have been there.

I am not sure if he strictly runs a spread or not. He is good and smart. I am sure he could build an offense around our talent. And I am sure we have more talent than Boise St. he has done a Phenomenal job there. I think he is like 33 or 34 Yo which is good - we need the energy! And I am pretty sure he doesn't make more than 300k a yr while Crowton makes 1mil right?

Anybody over what we got now!!!

After watching his play calling in the game this last weekend against La Tech--he's got to go after the end of this season!!!

agreed, no offense really takes two years to learn unless the guy is a REALLY late hire. the difficulty people run in to is that the current personnel doesn't fit what they need.

Also this guy -> Dana Holgorsen. OC at University of Houston. He was OC at TT and has been a QB coach and recruiter. He is running a good offense too. I just think we can go after some of these younger guys who are having success at smaller schools. They would jump at the chance I am sure.

The current personnel will fit his needs more than anything he has at Boise.

It's like saying that our D talent doesn't fit Chavis' system, and it really doesn't. However, that makes about two shits of difference when the coach is good and the talent is amazing.

I was also thinking about the QB coach from Delaware. He's developed two great qbs.

The spread wasn't too good the first year Urban ran it at Florida if I remember correctly.

Maybe I'm mistaken about the Florida thing, but I thought an offensive overhaul would take one season. Sort of depends to what degree you change it I suppose. Anyway, if he can coach a QB and be a good playcaller, then he would be a good pick for OC. Not sure if Crowton gets fired at the end of this year...we'll have to wait and see.
