She's played well in some games that she's played in her normal position but I guess you were All-American so you can play any position, right?

Apologize for what??

Comments like:

HVL should sit the bench

Poa should start

HVL sucks

I have never come out and said HVL was playing well in the games she wasn’t, but I, and others, have stated many firms that she is our best option. You have to give her time to get accustomed to the new position. And to her credit, she willingly made the move to LSU knowing her scoring would suffer. And even when she has struggled you can see her supporting her team mates. I have a lot of respect for her.

I didn’t see you starting threads the other 90% games she struggled.

I’ve run the game thread for most of the women’s games this season. I have defended her many times in those threads as well as some of the other threads discussing her play.

I have also criticized her play at times, but there is a difference in criticizing some of the plays and flat out calling a player “a bust” or “bench her” or “she should never see the floor”.

Pretty sure where she plays, each game, is a CKM decision. Not hers.

The important thing is she has gotten into game shape and looks like she will probably take back over the point, especially with Poa's poor play.

“Some time?” It’s 10 days until the SEC tournament. That’s more than “some time.”

She’s definitely out of position at PG, but if Mulkey thinks she is our best option at PG then that isn’t HVL’s fault.

Pretty sure where HVL chose to transfer to was her decision and not CKM. Hailey knew exactly what her role on the LSU team was going to be and she took that challenge head on and has been giving her best effort all season long.

I’m confused. Do you think people owe her an apology or not?

Sure they do, but they don’t have to do so in this thread.

Amazing how nobody considers the foot injury she has played through this year that limited her mobility early on.

HVL has been and is still a very good player; her resume speaks for itself. Has she struggled some this year? The answer is yes. She has also sacrificed a lot by playing point guard the entire season; her sacrifice speaks volumes. Coach KM is introducing a bit more as the year goes on by playing zone defense at times, pressing at times, etc. as she prepares for the tournament. Williams drove more to the basket today, and HVL became more of a shooter. Congrats to the team for a big win at Tennessee.

HVL has been under utilized and wrongly utilized all year. She should be doing nothing every game but spotting up 3’s. Williams should take nothing but mid-range shots as well. It’s not as if Mulkey doesn’t know every player’s strengths, but getting them to do what she expects is 2 different things

Nobody will step up. We have a very negative fan base.

I have to believe it’s really just this board.
It’s getting to Philadelphia levels here.

I certainly wouldn’t want to coach for a school with a mob of fans that are coming for your throat if you have a bad year (or in Jay Johnson’s case, a bad game).

I understand some angst over the current state of collegiate athletics, but damn. Feels less like “passion” & more like sharks waiting for someone to chum the water.
