re: A good, modern offense doesn't require a QB to "read the entire field"

Sorry, SFP…just not that invested. Though I see you’ve retreated into othering the person rebutting you. Soft ad hominem. Typically the recourse of those who can’t argue from a rational or technical perspective.
Oh and…does your tiny little tiger heart truly believe that you aren’t reading secondary and front 7 looks post snap? Again…you’re literally factually incorrect in the basis of your defense. It’s like arguing that you got a math problem right because you followed all the steps when you actually transcribed the numbers off the chalkboard wrong at the outset. When you start off wrong you can’t argue your way to right.
Have fun. Think we’re through here.

Sure, but the whole point of a creative/modern offense is making presnap easy. 2019 LSU is a great example b/c we forced teams to show man/zone and it was easy after that. Under Kelly/Denbrock, how many times has a RB/TE split out (the simplest ID play) to force the D to show its hand? I am pretty sure after 4 games it's 0 times.
Since you are too fricking lazy to do your own research (or you just know it will prove you wrong), I did it for you while I re-watched the game. Here’s a breakdown of all motions with an emphasis on the TE since you called that out, RBs splitting out for 5 wide, and throws to the middle of the field. I also listed PAs for the hell of it. It’s a long list, so enjoy.

1st Quarter
* 2nd play of the game Goodwin splits out. How did you miss this

* Goodwin motions to a Pistol look. PA on the bomb to Hilton
* 2nd play of the 2nd drive to set up Bech over the middle.
* 2nd drive PA pass to Nabers from the NM 25.
* Bech in motion on 3rd down next play. Miscommunication with WR. Looked like Nabers ran the wrong route and motioned to himself after the play.
2nd Quarter
* 3rd down on 3rd drive to Williams out of the backfield.
* Next play- Bech over the middle.
* TE Motion on 2nd down from the 23. Out route to Nabers.
* WR motion on 1st and Goal. Handoff to Williams to the 1 but holding called on K Taylor.
* Bech over the middle again on the next play, so this narrative is already proved to be total bullshite.
* TE motion by K Taylor for a TE. Meh call on Nabers for the pick play brings it back, but a perfect play call. 2 TD costing mistakes by Nabers in the first half.
* WR motion. Daniels sacked.
* TE motion on 3rd and long. Pass goes to K Taylor to set up FG.
* 1st down from LSU 28 on Last drive of the half. RB splits out for 5 wide. Daniels scrambles for 4.
* M Taylor catch on curl in the middle from midfield after the 4th down conversion.
* TE Motion on the next play. Williams run outside for a loss.
* WR Motion on the next play. Daniels with a nice slant to Jenkins.
* TE Motion on 2nd and 10 from the NM 28. Williams runs for 5.
* 3rd and 7 pass to Jenkins over the middle to set up 1st and goal. Nice pass and quick release despite decent coverage.
3rd Quarter
* Williams splits out on 4 and 7 on first drive of the 2nd half. Bad pass on crossing route to Nabers over the middle.
* 1st down on 2nd drive. Nabers in motion takes a jet sweep for 7.
* M Taylor in motion on 4th and 3. Daniels designed run for the first.
* TE Motion on the WR Tunnel Screen to Nabers. Nice execution.
* TE Motion on 2nd and 3 on Nuss’ 2nd drive. Cain runs for TD.
4th Quarter
* 1st play Lacy motions and gets a pitch for 9 yards.
* 1st play of drive at 10:51. WR motion. Cain runs for 2 yards.
* 3rd and 4. TE Motion. Throw to Jenkins on slant inside the hash.
I’m not a huge Denbrock fan, but I do think he can be effective if Daniels can settle in a bit more and he can keep generating easier looks for him, especially early in games. My gripe with you is that you are literally just making shite up to bitch about and throwing out straw men to beat up on.
As for complexity- do you really think his system is complicated? It doesn’t look like it. This offense isn’t on the same planet with what a guy like Jimbo is trying to put on a college QB.

BK consistently splits out backs and TEs. it's one of his staple strategies
This is what I mean. sfp creates imaginary situations that do not even exist and then argues against them.
his posting has been downhill ever since he got married but that's another topic. I swear that shite affects your brain chemistry

Could you imagine living with and arguing with that mfer every day?

I mean, he is a lawyer. It's almost refreshing to see someone on TD who is being their real, authentic self.

Been making this argument since the conservative, early Miles era.

Riley requires throws in anticipation of getting open and accurate throws in stride.
The same “Riley Offense” which barely beat Oregon State? The Rant is full of “the grass is greener” mentality and they use examples of guys such as Riley or Leach. It’s laughable.

Does anyone think JD is performing like this in a Riley offense? No way.
So conjecture now qualifies a proof? OK...

Yea I’ve seen Riley’s QBs shite the bed in his offense way worse than anything Daniels has done

Disagree, somewhat. While some of your points are correct, a quarterback who can do a few things at the line of scrimmage can turn a good offense into a great one:
1. change the play at the line if needed.
2. Identify the "hot read" and get it to him quickly.
3. have available a dump off option (normally a running back) when nobody else is open.
Granted, you need an offensive philosophy to go along with a good quarterback to make this work.

I still cannot believe SFP thinks NFL QBs only make 1-2 reads...yea on RPOs but we're talking straight up passing plays.

HOw many times has JD done any of these?
Posted on 9/25/22 at 6:59 pm to SlowFlowPro
What modern offenses require is a QB who leads the reciever so he can make the catch with little adjustment IN STRIDE.

He doesn't actually think that. He just read it on Reddit and thought it sounded edgy.

He doesn’t seem to be changing many plays at the line, but he was actually good reading blitz and getting the ball out short last night. He missed one of the throws low out wide, but had some good ones to Bech, the Taylors and RBs out of the backfield.

I downvoted just on your title. The only way that it's possible to not require a QB to see the entire field in a modern offense would be "if" the first or second read is always open and that just isn't the case. Why was Burrow so good? He was great at pre and post snap reads and he could see the entire field and then proceeded to make the defense pay for it. Couldn't disagree with you more.
