A fun game to remember with USCe tonight (8-0 deficit)

Last year’s SEC tournament, LSU rallied from 8-0 to win in extras, mostly on the strength of stupefyingly bad SC defense.
Tom Hart’s call at 13:30 says it all
Say what you will about the importance of the SEC tournament, or lack thereof, but this is why it’s a blast to watch.

Thanks for the reminder.. we got completely hosed in the top of the 10th on that steal of home.
Doesn't matter tho.. monster went big fly

and one of the most horrific bullshite calls of all time by a home plate umpire
but it made Milams walk off so much sweeter in retrospect

Was there…. What a rollercoaster of a game. Jeff Head still hasn’t said what the call was. We watched YouTube as we waited to figure out what happened and what the review(s) were.

Jeff Head wasn't in the box score for that game when I checked it.
Home Plate was Derek Mollica. 1B was Brandon Cooper, who tossed Jay last week. 2B was Eric Goshay, who started last week's bullshite with the check swings at 1B. 3B was David Savage, who was the HP ump when Jay got tossed against Texas this year.
I think Savage was the crew chief. But all of them are listed on my tracker at least 4 times for ejecting coaches in the last 5 years.

This shite is so funny to me.
Umpire makes a rare call, and absolutely nails it. 100% the correct call whether you like it or not
You don’t know the rule at all, not even close
Neal was in front of the plate

Even if the call was technically correct, he went outside of the rules to arrive at it. He didn't make it until after the South Carolina coach intervened.

But he didn’t touch or go in front of home plate. At most his front foot was maybe even with the front of home plate but even that isn’t obvious.
It was a horrific call in that circumstance since the runner was out by a mile, it’s even worse that it isn’t reviewable

That game was 100% justification for AI umpiring.

That's makeup of a crew is the All-Star crap squad. Just missing Head.

He was out. The rule is the catcher can't be in front of the plate or touching it before he has possession. His left knee does not touch the plate, nor is it it front of the plate. It is on the left side. Out!

What pisses me off the most about that horrific call was that SCs coach asked for it. The umps didn't call it in real time. One of the biggest headscratching ump moments I can recall.

This is wrong.

His left knee was always at the side (not in front) of home plate and was never touching it before he had the ball. So, he should have been out,
