Maybe not, but it would be a really good selling point.

Another fun fact: Paul Rhodes (Iowa State HC in 2011) was the DC for Pitt when they beat West Virginia 13-9 on the final day of the 2007 regular season to put LSU back in the title game.

Paul Rhodes giveth, and Paul Rhodes taketh away.

Damn, I don’t think I ever knew that.

Interesting dilemma.

Would you rather WVU win that game and go on to play OSU in the BCSCG, with LSU going to the Sugar to play Hawaii as SEC Champs, or have OKS win and face them in the BCSCG without a guarantee of a win?

I loved that 07 team and all those players and beating OSU was incredible, but I think I have to say that ‘11 team deserved a chance at someone other than Alabama again and let the chips fall where they may.

You risk losing both NCs but I’m confident enough in that 11 defense to slow down Gundy and I actually even feel we could have beaten up on that defense too. Plus it would have just been a more fun and explosive matchup. The Dome would have been wild for the shot to finally go undefeated and win it all against Miles’ former team.

frick you Paul Rhodes, give us 2011 back you bitch

The thing about 2011 is that a championship would've cemented that team as a Top 3 CFB team ever. I'd definitely trade the 2007 2-loss national title for that chance.
