He looks super unathletic, and has some terrible footwork.

They’re going to give Brennan the Vandy game. He will play well enough to convince the coaching staff to keep trotting him out there.

If he throws this to #5 that’s a pick

If emery continues running he’s running right into a defender. But yes he should have thrown a lot of balls

Even when he looked down field, he wouldn't pull the trigger. The first drive in the third quarter when LSU was driving, he had Gilbert open in the seam. Myles looked at him, held the ball, and waited to until the rush got to him to throw the ball. He threw a duck and the safety was able to make to break up a for sure TD.

My GF played college softball in Louisiana. She said that MB has the gait of someone with no knees. Lol.

quote:He should be set and ready to throw
Pic 1: by the time he sets that could be a pick 6.
quote:Pocket awareness, he could have stepped up in the pocket.
Pic 2: he’s about to scramble from the rush.
quote:I think he's actually starting to scramble, which is a big part of the issue, no pocket awareness and leaving too early.
Pic 5: he’s still dropping back. Could easily have been a pick 6 if he throws off his back foot or waits to get set.
Look at the Dr and OL at the top. There's no way they'd be that far if Brennan was still in his normal drop back. That's Brennan wanting to leave the pocket when he has a perfect pocket to throw from.

Myles Brennan vs. Mississippi State holding the ball 3 seconds less & more

I wonder how much of this is missing Joe Brady and/or inadequate QB coaching? Brennan did not look prepared to hit WRs before their cuts. He didn’t look prepared for QB pressures. He also didn’t look confident in throwing the passes. It got better in the 2nd half from the TV view but he didn’t look ready.
In addition the OLine is shaky and there weren’t as many creative uses of RBs in the passing game. As dynamic as Emery is supposed to be put him in the slot more often and let’s go. They did finally do some of this in the second half.

It's almost like he was playing with his eyes closed at times and just refused to throw the football.
Well , his perspective is much different than ours.
I think he lacks the mind to know where guys should be...and turn to check down...make the throw and let guys make plays

Brennan is gun shy and doesn’t see the whole field
O warned us last week of all the things he had to work on and we thought it was some type of joke

We get that he hasn’t been a starter and his main accomplishments were 4 years ago against high school players, but he’s been at LSU, practicing, learning and training with some of the top coaches and against some of the top defensive players in all of college football. Did he not gain anything from that time and experience? Should we just set back and accept that, oh this guy is just out of high school, he needs time. How much time does he need? If he hasn’t gotten better and prepared for SEC competition by now, should we think that all the sudden he’s going to just magically get better after one terrible game? If 3-4 years hasn’t moved him past high school senior play ability, what will? We don’t have 3 more years for him to get there, it’s game time, season already started.

We’ve got to get the freshman out there, this is big boy football, feelings may get hurt but Myles is not the answer for this program. He may be the answer to ULM but not LSU.
If coach wants to keep his job he’ll make changes.

Brennan may not be cobra Kai material.

Maybe I'm nuts but the one to Emery was a miscommunication he thought Emery would stop his route

I rewatched some of the 4th quarter possession. I thought you guys were being typical rantards saying WRs were always open. You weren't exaggerating. That drive where we got the ball on their 30 and settled for a 3 and out? Marshall was wide open!

Could you imagine how bad it would be with a Freshman. I'd be a little bit more patient then that
Posted on 9/27/20 at 12:09 pm to adambomb
It was way worse in the 1st quarter. Try rewatching that bs
