Chark is not a surprise. Hell, I'm surprised we didn't see him a lot more last year.

Just one of those body types that took some time to gain weight. He and Johnson will play well this year. We have a great problem at WR.

He's a strong guy and a good athlete, but his coverage was average for a DB.

However his coverage as a LB would be great. I love the idea of getting all these talented, versatile athletes on the field every where we can.

I think Aranda is trying to find his Joe Schobert.

His physique is beginning to look a lot like Jennings who was about 6'2 220 as a sophomore. Will go a long way in making him more durable.

Well, I think Johnson is the most talented WR on our roster. Hope he gets some targets.

What? How did you come to that conclusion?

Yeah, but that's a far cry from THE best. Malachi Dupre is severly underrated. He is probably the best WR in America. He is definitely better than A&M's guy or Bama's. Watch where he's drafted. I'll be very surprised if he's not the first wideout taken.

I dont know about the best in cfb(the Ford guy from Va tech and that Smith guy from Southern Cal would get my vote) but Dupre is our best wr at the moment and i expect him to explode this year.

I believe he is the best weapon at receiver, especially in the end zone.

I am not sure if he is the most gifted/talented. He is great at what he does though.. and the man sure can dunk a basketball.

Johnson in his own right was a 5 star and #1 player out of the state.. He seems to have tremendous measurables.. We don't know too much because he's limited with elite guys ahead of him.

Personally Drake Davis has me the most excited. I believe he is a game-breaker.. but we have so much depth. Like someone said, it's a nice problem to have.

Dupre is definitely the best receiving weapon on the team right now. Dural is great at what he does, burning and stretching the field as well. He is a YPC monster.

Can you imagine our passing game if we had a Jruss or Mett type qb this year?
Dupre,Dural,TJ,Chark, and Drake could all be standout wrs if they had the qb and scheme to get them the ball.

Jalen Williams WR. At 6'4 210 what's the word on this walk on? Hanny and Ott were raving about him. Anyone know what kind a player he was in high school?

If this is the guy from Opelousas he was one helluva player for Westminster Christian. Played football, basketball and baseball and was a draft pick with the Red Sox.

Don't know if he had much in the way of football offers since it was a foregone conclusion that he was going in the MLB draft. He was one of the best highschool athletes in the area (by a long shot). Just naturally gifted.

I hadn't heard that he was contemplating walking on.

Johnson will contribute this year, but as most cases, the 3rd year is the one where WR's generally flourish

Wasn't there someone here who said there was "no way" he would report anywhere near 220 lbs

Yeap, the rant, where everyone can coach this team to a title. Yet, Paul and Les are the only two coaches to ever finish the season AP #1. 120+ years and people think LSU has some claim of always being the best and that every fan knows better than the coaches.

He committed to Nicholls b/c they would allow him to play both baseball and football.

Hudspeth offered football, but Robichaux didn't want him for baseball. He missed his junior season due to academics.

Threw 93 at a showcase in front of several scouts and was drafted by Red Sox in 18th round, but 150K signing bonus, including college expenses if it didn't work out.

I always felt football would be his future, but mostly due to the fact that he didn't dedicate himself to baseball.

On a sidenote, he is related to Devery. Badon, his head coach at WCA, did not run an offensive system that best utilized his skill set. He definitely stood out in AA/A, but up against LSU's WRs, he will need to show excellent hands.

And I think 200 is being modest. Last time I saw him it was closer to 220. Definitely good weight.

Remember neither Beckwith nor Minter could get on the field consistently until midway through their second year.

Not saying White will start early in the season, but the reason these two guys didnt take over is because they were expected to call the defenses alignments.

Beckwith will do that obviously, so it's a big difference between their situations.

Probably should have used a different term. I think TJ3 has the highest ceiling of our receiver group.

It's hard for me though. I see Johnson as a Beckham type, Dupre as an AJ Green type, and Davis as Julio type.

Meaningless.

Can he consistently hit 5, 10 and 15 yard passes against Alarkansippi?

This is what makes the maddest. People forget that against the best secondary we faced all year Brandon had a great game. UF had 3 guys in that secondary that are 1st rounders. Dude got lit up against Bama and Arkansas and threw for like 320 against Ole Miss.

It's pure ignorance when people say it's all on Brandon. Kevin Steele was a bigger contributor to our 3 losses last year.

Harris played last season just like a QB with limited experience plays. He had bright spots along with low spots but that is just part of development. You would swear from reading some post of the lame posters that Harris showed no positives whatsoever last season. Truth is, Brandon showed just how good he be at times a year ago. It's just about building on the positives & being more consistent with him. If continues to build on what he flashed last season then he will be a pretty good QB this upcoming season.
