I can guarantee his performance won't be perfect and he should be given a little latitude even when a 3rd down isn't successful.
Fat chance.
People will be getting their torches ready after the first incompletion.

Is this not the reason he came here?
Exactly. He came to LSU to start in the SEC. It's big boy football and pressure comes with the territory.

The undue pressure is a part of the reason QB’s have failed here over the years.
They come in and feel like they have to win the game immediately and set the world on fire.

If he doesn't throw 2 touchdowns to himself on the first play he better be riding the bench for the rest of the season.

They didn't have the chest.

Well to be fair, you’re a fan of another team telling us what we should do. Even though what you say is reasonable, it comes off as condescending. As far as Ohio State .....
This wasn’t that long ago

If he completes simple screen passes or throws WRs the ball in stride, he will have already surpassed anything we've seen in the last 5 years.

Compare him to Todd Boeckman...the guy Ali Highsmith destroyed in New Orleans

That is not the reason qbs have failed here lol. They have failed mostly due to incompetent coaching and game planning . They were rarely in a position to succeed due to defenses knowing they were going to throw damn near every time and that the pass would be a sideline bomb.

You’re getting downvoted but I know what you mean. There is a large contingent of Bama fans in my family and this is exactly how they come across.

It’s not like he has big shoes to fill. He doesn’t have to come in and be Drew Brees for us to be impressed.
I would think it would simply be a matter of personal pride for a tOSU transfer to be better than a Boilermaker transfer.
If he's not Etling should give him unending shite.

The first time he fumbles a snap or throws a pick the asscranks on here will make make Rachel Maddow and Don Lemon seems like levelheaded geniuses. A lot of them already do and we haven’t played a snap yet. Just the way it is

I said it is a part of the reason. 17-18 year old kids are generally mentally fragile and not ready to bear that kind of weight on their shoulders. This leads to mistakes when they’re trying NOT to screw up.

SDP do come back. Yes, this place is very toxic, but can you admit you enjoyed reading what these Jackasses had to say?

True but this applies to any big time college football program. It's par for the course signing to play for a program like LSU.

I think its important that he doesn't have undue pressure heaped upon him...
Ultimately it will take the whole team for the Tigers to succeed.
As a fellow long time Buckeye fan and recent new Tiger fan, I understand what you're saying, but I don't believe that Joey B will wilt under any "undue pressure."
I think he will thrive on pressure, just like he did when he took his underdog Athens High School team against powerhouse Toledo Central Catholic in the 2014 Ohio HS Div 3 championship game. While his underdog team came up 4 points short, he threw for 6 TDs.
After the game, Burrow said: "Worst day of my life. Not much more to be said," but it sure didn't look like it to anyone who watched that game.
Burrow is a competitor, is smart, and has his head screwed on right. He'll be fine no matter what comes his way.
And you may be right, it's possible that Miami's D and LSU new OLine may result in a game simliar to what JT Barrett had his first game against VaTech in 2014, but after that, JT improved, the OLine improved, and by the end of the year, the 2014 Buckeyes had improved to the most efficient offense in the country and won it all.
By the way, I think you are selling Burrow short, he can make the right reads under pressure and get the ball to the check receiver without throwing INTs like Barrett did in his debut.

I compare it to Stidham last year with Auburn. Started off slow but you could see the talent was there and improved throughout the season. I think that will happen with Burrow and he will go into next year as a top QB. Scared coach O will play QB shuffle if he has a bad game in the first few weeks and it will become a mess.
