Let me start by saying I know this suggestion is 100% impossible and will not happen.
But how awesome would it be if Alleva figured out a way to schedule a game this weekend against like southern or someone like that and canceled the Rice game.
Devin could serve his suspension and be eligible for the bama game.
It would be an incredible F you to Sankey.
I know it can’t happen but a man can dream.

you are right...not likely....but that would be awesome. and also put a target on LSU's back from now till judgment day in the SEC office.....so the norm.

I would schedule with a D-2 school, and then have them forfeit the morning of the game. Also schedule the game for the Friday before the Alabama game.

I love the idea. But our AD doesn’t have the stones to pull it off. Sad.

How would this be possible? Teams can just schedule extra games on their schedule if they want? This doesn’t seem correct

I don’t think his stones are the issue. He’s shown that he will fight the league office tooth and nail. We may have lost the long game in the UForfeit situation, but our guy went to fricking bat for us.
I think he doesn’t have the time to figure out the logistics and get another school to do the same.

We can't add games to the schedule. There is a limit. Rice already has a game this weekend. Good thought though.

1st, it won’t happen.
2nd, teams schedule games with random opponents from time to time to make up for a canceled game.
For this to work we would need a team that is also on a bye this week and we’d probably have to pay them to cancel a future game as well so that they don’t exceed the 12 game limit.
Maybe find a team that had a game canceled by a hurricane to make some of it easier.
Again, this is not a real suggestion cuz it would have to happen to fast and we would need another school to be just as motivated to get this game in.

Just claim that hurricane hitting Mexico and W Texas is going to affect Rice, move game up.
Easy peasy. Just offer Rice $200k extra, pay for travel expenses, and waiver to contact 3 guys on practice squad.
Buy 'em off. And tell the SEC to frick OFF.

Didn't Florida State do this just last year, or maybe it was the year before, to become bowl eligible?
