As much as I was frustrated by the process, the idea is to get to two two teams.
Alabama showed it's credentials by beating us.
Convincingly.
Would other teams get a mulligan like Bama?
NO.
Only USC, ND or tOSU would have gotten such favorable treatment .
However, Bama showed it was better than the only unbeaten team.
We gotta live with that.

It was a decision so terrible that it lead directly to the end of the BCS. We took one for the good of college football. The BCS is dead.

According to every ranking last year, yes.
See that's why I hate the tired SEC dominance story that ESPN lazily keeps pushing.
I absolutely believe that the SEC is the best conference, but that doesn't mean winning another conference is irrelevant. Especially last year, when the SEC was pretty down other than 4 teams (LSU, Bama, UGA, Ark).
It's not like those mid level teams in the Big 12 or Pac 12 couldn't hang with the mid level SEC teams.
The idea that the SEC blasts everyone they play out of conference is just dumb.
Oregon damn near beat Auburn in the BCSCG in 2010 too. The BCSCGs have gotten closer and closer since 06 when the streak started.

I still dont get how LSU fans are still mad about this, we got our arse handed to us so how can you say thet didnt deserve to be there? LSU is the only 2 loss team to ever got to the BCSNC.

But when the selection was made I highly doubt anyone knew 21-0 was going to happen. We had already beaten Bama, and OSU had a much better resume. If you dodn't see how people can't understand the selection, you're just too dense to deal with.

Bama indeed did have their shot, but it was a questionable win for LSU though. The Reid INT could of went either way, and when its a simultaneous catch it goes to the O. We were lucky that the call on the field was an INT. If we dont get that call, we most likely lose to Bama. If we lost to Bama at Bama, would you be complaining that we should not of been in the NCG because we already had our shot? No, you wouldnt. The point of the system is to get the 2 best teams in the game, and thats what happened. We lost. Live with it, stop worrying about what happened 9 months ago. It was very obvious after that game that Bama deserved to be in the NC.
How did OSU have a better resume? Losing to Iowa St isnt as bad as losing to LSU? Wheres the logic in that??

So you thought OSU was a better team? No one did. Bama lost to #1 LSU by 3. OSU lost to Iowa St.

Our team played for all the marbles on 11/5. We played in their house and won. Whoever won that game was on the fast track to the SEC Championship and the National Championship if they won that. Then they select Bama despite the fact they didn't even win their conference. Basically, a big FU to LSU for putting it all on the table on 11/5 in their house.
1/9 was a joke. The game that counted was 11/5.

What?? Have you read my posts?
I have clearly and repeatedly said the rematch was a sham and OSU should have gotten in over Bama.
What isn't clear??
The post you quoted was criticizing the guy who said the only way to determine who is better between OSU and Bama was to settle it on the field, and yet thinks Bama deserved to be in the rematch.
It's pointing out his hypocrisy because LSU and Bama had ALREADY SETTLED IT ON THE FIELD, so the rematch should never have happened.
OSU deserved their shot.
