LSU should be in the Top 20. The committee just does not appropriately weight schedule strength. LSU should be ahead of Missouri and, maybe, Ole Miss. With better luck with injuries LSU is right there in the mix. As it is, they could end up only 1 game out of first in the conference. They aren’t as far off as “not in the CFP Top 25” makes it appear.
Blame our HC. We should be 9-2

This one says you are an idiot.
What makes this thread-worthy? Maybe you just like being miserable. You do you!
My guess is you have never played or coached. You think we should win a natty every year and will bitch and whine when we don't. Just shut up!
Geaux post somewhere else. Arkansas needs fans like you.

The fanbase for pretty much every team in the SEC feels the same way. I guess all the coaches in the conference should get fired.

Bottom half of the SEC for paying over $10 million/year for mediocre coaches with zero accountability.

Are they all in year 3 of a 100 million dollar contract?

Wasn't the entire defensive staff fired after last season?
How much more accountability do you want?

How about a hit to Brain Kelly's paycheck?
He hired those people who were fired less than 3 years ago.

He's the 4th highest paid coach in the SEC and depending upon how games go this weekend, could finish 3rd in the SEC.
Before everyone attacks me, I'm just sunshine pumping here and trying to make myself feel better heading into next season.

What’s magical about Year 3? Saban went 8-5 in Year 3. Swinney was 10-4 after going 6-7 the year before. Harbaugh was 8-5. Urban Meyer and Spurrier were 9-4. They all somehow managed to build top programs and win national titles.

BK said we’d compete for championships in Year 3. He lied

He made a stupid promise he couldn’t keep. No coach knows when injuries will pop up, certain players will fail to develop, when assistants will fail to do their jobs, or when the ball just doesn’t bounce the right way. Failing to succeed in any one season is not proof that a coach will never succeed. Again, look at the examples.

For me, it’s the trajectory of the program. Is it trending up or down? I’ll let you come to your own conclusions

I feel like this year 3 comment has been misconstrued over time. Kelly was asked a question and he gave his thoughts with an answer.
He didn't "promise" or make any sort of guarantee and I think no matter what his answer was, people would still be unhappy and calling for his head.
Toppmeyer asked Kelly when he thinks LSU will be ready to seriously contend for a national championship.
“We need another year of recruiting – one more really good year on both sides of the ball, I think, puts us in a position where, I think Year 3, the consistency piece, the depth of our program, the messaging, all the things we do on a day-to-day basis, puts us in a position to compete for a championship,” Kelly told Toppmeyer .
“Year 2, the foundation is in place. I think there’s a really good confidence within the group. We’ve got good players. There’s some holes. There’s a little air coming out of the tire here and there. I think we’ve kind of patched most of it, but I think Year 3 is probably the year where I’ll feel, in terms of building a program, we’ve had enough time to really put the pieces together.”

Beat OU and close out the recruiting class and it is trending up.
Lose to OU and have a number of recruits flip and it is trending down.

Why do you think head coaches make so much money? Because it’s an exceptionally hard job to do well and no one is perfect at that job. There are many things outside the control of the coach, including the things you highlighted. There are going to be ebbs and flows and fits and starts. It’s only an issue if the coach does not make adjustments and adapt or if they consistently get something wrong. What was Saban doing wrong when he went 8-5 in Year 3? What about Harbaugh, Meyer, Spurrier, and Swinney? They should have been fired, right? There was no way they were ever going to turn those programs around and win NCs. Oh, wait, yes they did.

Harbaugh, Meyer, Spurrier, and Swinney?
You can make the comparison to Harbaugh. He went to Michigan from San Francisco after recently having them in the SB.
Meyer, Spurrier, Swinney did not leave a top tier school to go to Florida, Florida, and Clemson. Brian Kelly did and demanded top pay to do so.
No one should have expectations to pay top prices for mid level service. But there are fans on this board carrying water for BK all day long. He is not a young coach navigating the struggles of running a program, he is supposed to be a man that knows how to put pieces in place to compete at a top 5 level.

Sounds like the same arguments people made to replace Daniels before his Heisman trophy winning campaign. What does experience have to do with how long it takes to rebuild a depleted roster and get the right culture in place? House was a misstep, but one Kelly rectified immediately. I’m not saying he absolutely will get the job done here. I’m just saying one down year replacing his starting QB, both coordinators, and dealing with a higher than average number of injuries doesn’t prove that he can’t.
