I still remember watching that game on TV with my Dad!

Isn’t that the game that Archie played with a soft cast on his left hand

DEAF VALLEY"!
At no time has it ever been called Deaf. There was a gas station named that. I argue with my Dad who’s 80 about this all the time. My first game was 1978 and I remember “Welcone to Death Valley”
Also Mike Andersons is still a go to for us on Sundays after a game.
Andy Hamilton married Gov McKeithens daughter and became missionaries in China.
I don’t know about those other players anymore.
Y’all’s generation gets fighting mad over the deaf vs death.
Sorry but death sounds way cooler than deaf. Deaf doesn’t make sense. I’d rather kill (figuratively) than disable (figuratively) our opponent. They can still play if they’re deaf, but they can’t do shite if they’re dead.

I was at that game. Dad and I walked on the field to his car afterwards. What a memory I’ll never forget.
First Tiger Stadium game for me. I remember the crowd, the noise, the blowout score, and Archie's broken arm.
And just like you, I remember my mother and dad walking down onto the field to get to the other side of the stadium where we parked. I kept trying to pull away from my mom while we were walking on the field. I wanted to cross the goal line and "score a touchdown."
Parents are long gone now. But what a nice memory. .

and oranges pelted the field following the game. Casanova and Burns were electric.
I was there and remember it like it was yesterday.

I watched it live, and have the record

I was there in the 1960s and early 70s.
You weren't.
To say "at no time" it was Deaf Valley is ignorant. "Deaf" as in the crowd noise. Get it? Too much for you? I'll slow down.
By 1978, "Deaf" was removed. Probably by error.
Signs in Tiger Stadium before your time displayed "Deaf Valley."
Ask around.
Don't like it?
Too bad.

Clearly, we have a fentanyl problem among the Tiger faithful. You're proof.

I sent Bert a text and asked him what he was doing 55 years ago tonight. He had no idea.

I was there.
Ole Miss forgot to bring their punt coverage team. They couldn't come close to tackling Tommy Casanova.

I was 12. Remember it well. Such a satisfying win too.

Not a soft cast on his left hand. It went from wrist to bicep and it was huge.
Played hard the whole game so much so that even the LSU fans would cheer him and his no quit attitude. (Course they were up 40 with not a lot of time left so they could afford to. Just a tribute to his toughness).

Ok Boomer. I just proved my point. Boomers get testy about this fake news. Go eat your jello and watch that slow arse Billy Cannon punt return (just kidding that’s awesome). But anyway, good game, good team, Geaux Tigers.

Watched it on tv with my brother who had broke his leg playing football. My father had died of cancer in October so it was an uplifting experience to say the least. My father would sit in front of our console tv and listen to Ferguson call LSU games on the radio, smoking heaters and drinking scotch. He would have loved that one. RIP LSU law grad.

Dad took us to a friend's house and our families watched the game together. I was 4 years old but I remember the excitement.
