Not leaving them out, I mentioned it right after and he had already mentioned them.

From the same post
“Sure we played some marquee non conf games, Brown was great at getting those.”

“He got his shorts handed to him by Hardaway in the tournament “

Chris Jackson scored 33 points with 5 rebounds and 2 steals against Hardaway in that game.

You do realize that in basketball you have to play Defense ? Not exactly Chris Jackson’s strong suit . Maybe that’s why we lost to U freaking TEP no one has ever doubted Jackson as a scorer. Maybe that’s why he barely started half the games he played in the NBA

In that game Hardaway had 31 points . Hit three of eight from three point range and had 9 assists and three steals

Jackson 33 points 1 of eight from three and 1 assist. That would be 1 assist from our point guard . Let’s count those …. 1 …. That’s it . 1
He did have three steals but so did Hardaway.
I think I would take Hardaway’s stat line out of my point guard any day of the week and twice on Sunday .

He’s right about Shaq, he was a work in progress in college, got better each year, I could have beaten him at HORSE in college as long as dunking wasn’t allowed

So first it’s Mo’s fault because he’s a ball hog but now CJs the ball hog and points don’t matter in basketball, (btw of course it’s not Dale Browns fault we lost to UTEP, it’s the guy who dropped 33.). I love how you use the 1 for 8 but ignore that he was 50% from the field overall or that Hardaway was barely over 40% that game. Goal post moving and selective stats, an unbeatable combination.

I still can't believe the 86 team did what they did with the odds against it (soooooo lucky they got the Rounds of 64 and 32 at the PMAC) AND they led eventual national champ Louisville AT HALFTIME of the semifinal. The 87 team almost replicated that feat with a WORSE record but for Bob Knight intimidating the officials with the shite he pulled. Also the 80 and 81 teams should've won the natty, 80 ran up against a tough Dr. Dunkenstein team peaking at the right time and 81 Rudy injured his pinky, they would've held on had he not been dealing with that. Just great teams coached by Brown, hell the 93 team almost won the SEC Tournament if they didn't go up against an elite Kentucky team that game! Probably would've defeated Kentucky the year prior if Shaq didn't get suspended that game because of the Carlos Groves assault in the Tennessee game.

They were 9-9 in the SEC, that’s why you don’t give up on a team in basketball until it’s over. I think you’re right about Shaq in the SEC tourney, the team was playing well at that point and he was dominating. He had a triple double in his next game then went for 36 and 12 with 5 blocks the one after that.

And when he technically cheated, he started winning and that was NOT THE ONLY PLAYER FROM LOUISIVILLE.

Enjoy a-hole Woodward…

He left Kentucky to become an assistant basketball coach at Louisiana State University, 1976-1989, the first African American basketball coach hired full-time at the school, serving as recruiting coordinator and chief scout. He was heavily involved in bringing Shaquille O’Neal to play for LSU

Notable alumn

He was a father figure for a lot of his players. He didn’t know X’s and O’s, that’s for sure, but put together some good teams that were fun to watch. He should’ve retired after Shaq left. That’s when things started to go downhill. I was at the UK game when UK scored 86 in the first half. They made everything.

Only three coaches have truly transformed LSU athletics in my lifetime...
Nick Saban, Skip Bertman, and Dale Durward Brown.

The 87 team was worse in the SEC 8-10 but advanced all the way to the conference title game and that's why they got a berth, if only the refs didn't cave to Bob Knight

Dale haters are mostly younger people who gave no idea how dead LSU basketball was before Coach Brown. The biggest testimony to his legacy is the overwhelming praise he gets from his former players.

Sounds damn near identical to WW

Dale's rise coincided with him hiring high school coaches as assistants in order to get highly rated players.

Macklin/Abernathy was the first followed by Rick Huckaby/Howard Carter, Gary Duhe/Derrick Taylor, Stanley Roberts/Jim Childers. While not against the rules at the time many bristled at it. Don Devoe at Tennessee called it unethical to which Dale responded "so is divorce"....Devoe was of course divorced.

Not that Dale didn't do things that were against the rules as well.
